#486934, "Which Power Wheels? How Many?"

We are trying to decide which power wheels vehicle to get our boys for XMas. They LOVED my sister's cadillac escalade she has for her boys, but only 2 could fit in it, but....it would at least hold two and we can't afford to buy 3. What has everyone else done for these sorts of things? I know they will not share so would love to have 3, but can't seem to find any we could reasonably by for $100 a piece that would go fast enough. They boys will be 3 in March.

Thanks,

Jennifer

We just bought the Power Wheels police car for our DS twin in July. HUGE hit and we looked at all of them. It is a two seater and is great for him and his sister (and they just turned 7 but are small for their age. Our two year old like to ride in it with her brother too. And our trio, who are 9, use it too. I'd say buy one nice one and let them share....it's a lifelong skill!! Plus these things are bulky; I can't imagine trying to garage or store three! Maybe you could buy dress up police outfits or other accessories that might be fun with it, or other small toys to occupy them while two are riding. Just a suggestion.

I recommend getting 3 unless you want to be breaking up fights all day long. We have a Barbie Jeep for my daughter, a Lighting McQueen car for one ds and then another Jeep for my other DS. We got them all 2nd hand and paid about $40 for each. The only thing we had to do is just buy a new battery for the Lighting McQueen car this year(we have had it 3 yrs).

I was going to recommend looking for used ones also. The thing with 2nd hand ones is the batteries though. And new batteries run about $45. BUT having a 2nd battery to be charging was GREAT! Grandma gave them a brand new one one year and we got a 2nd one used for $45 with a decent battery. Have 4 kids so they sharded the 2 cars taking turns driving. Storage is an issue we couldn't store 4 of them. We got back up batteries so we didn't have one kid complaining that the other ran the battery out and they didn't get a turn which can be a big issue. extra batteries instead of extra cars was the best of both worlds for us.
