Our triplets birthday and our singleton's birthday are coming up and I want to bring birthday treats to their preschool. What are things you all have done as treats but also what have you done to make you triplets feel individually celebrated within their preschool class? All I can come up with is singing Happy Birthday to each of them and to have a third of the cupcakes with a cupcake ring topper in their chosen theme.I know I'm not creative and would appreciate some ideas from all of you Martha Stewart triplet mom

While I've done individual cakes at home, I've never made too big of a deal about singling them out on their birthdays at school. Honestly, I think all this stuff about them not feeling like individuals is a lot of psycho babble. They have been blessed with one of the greatest gifts: being part of a triplet set and having two best friends for life. That's cause enough for celebration! We do sing to each of them, of course, and they do that in school as well but they are a special birthday event in and of themselves and get plenty of attention to share.

That being said, I think doing the cupcakes into thirds with different decos is a cute idea, but what do you do if more than a third of the class wants one of the themes! A few preschool tears to go with the party?!

For birthday treats we've done giant cookie cakes that can be easily shared, individual ice cream cups, chocolate dipped strawberries (probably the biggest hit and cute for Christmas). You could even put little birthday picks in them.

Have fun!!

Ellyn and the lucky 13!

Hi
With all of the allergy concerns going around, you should check on the food policy of the school. At our school, no homemade food is allowed. They also ask that that you refrain from even bringing in store bought treats. Instead, I buy a new book for the teacher of my child who is having the birthday and donate it to her class in honor of my child's birthday. Then they read it on that day and sing the birthday song to them. I've also made small goody bags with things like pencils and stickers to pass out.
Enjoy their special day!
