#487030, "Quad Stroller Recommendations for Newborn Trips & Toddl..."

Hello all,
Congratulations to everyone here. As I have been reading the posts over the last few months we are so happy to be in such good company.

This is my first post, so I'll try to be as precise as possible in what I am looking for information about.

We are 24 weeks this Thursday and by the time our triplets arrive, our daughter will be 18-20 months (currently 16.5 months and just started walking). With the cost of strollers, we'd really like to make our first stroller purchase a wise one for our family initially. Instead of seeking a triplet stroller, we feel that we would be best served with a quad stroller.

Does a quad stroller exist that would permit the insertion of 3 carseat buckets, and then our toddler could just sit in the 4th place? I have seen only a few of the quad strollers (not sure if that is all that exists), but most of the sites I come across seem to not address this topic. We were able to use our Graco Snap-n-Go with our daughter and it was such a blessing to not have to wake her every time we went somewhere. We are hoping to find the same type of convenience for our triplets in a quad version stroller. We have not made any triplet dedicated purchases yet so we are not necessarily set on the Graco carseat if there is another brand that would work best with a quad stroller that would allow three carseats to be inserted.

Thank you in advance for your insight!
Warmly,
Adrianne

I thought "Mountain Buggy" had a stroller that had a "double stroller" with capability to put two extra seats on top...I think you can click the bucket seats right in...and I'm assuming there is a toddler seat conversion...

can anyone else help out with this?

I've got GGG and a G but my singleton was 2 1/2 when the triplets were born - we used a triplette and had my G walk or, we use a double chariot - one on my back in a back pack (can't do that until at least 4-5 months adjusted), 2 in the chariot and my oldest walked or tucked into the front of the chariot. you could also look at "Valco" - I'm not sure how it works for infants but once the babes are older it might be a good fit for you with a toddler stand in the back.
just some thoughts....

good luck!

Your situation sounds VERY similar to mine. My triplets were born at 27w 5d and my daughter was only 20 months old. They were do exactly 1 month before her 2nd birthday.

I have The Foundations Quad http://www.amazon.com/Foundations-Quad-Four-Child-Stroller/dp/B0012ZXZAE
*I like that it's cheap $400 on Amazon
* all 4 kids still fit in it 12 months adjusted and almost 3 yr old
* My daughter sits in front, the canopy does hit her head.
* I had to get a new front bar (free) as I think ours was broken either in the box or my husband did it putting it together.
*Now the fabric between the back two seats is pulling apart after only a year
* It's good for walks and I use it to take them to PT/OT twice a week, but it's hard to maneuver in the smaller older building.

WE use the Foundations anytime we take all 3 boys. I do like it for the cost, but think if you have the money you could get a better system. Seats are hard to recline and really you don't want to do it often. It's about 57 pounds by itself. It does fit through standard doorways. You wouldn't be able to put the car seats into it.

We also have a Contours Options Tandum that I bought from someone in my twins club used for $45. http://www.amazon.com/Contours-Options-Tandem-Stroller-Ruby/dp/B002R26LZM

I LOVE it. The original owner had gotten the extra car seat attachment so we put two car seats into it. It's light and easy to fold. We would carry the 3rd baby in the carseat and my daughter would walk. I still use this one as much as I can. Even yesterday we took the 3 boys to a doctor and only used it as one of us carried the 3rd. WE didn't have our daughter, but at almost 3 she doesn't care to sit in the stroller as often. I think going forward we could get away with the double and a single in most instances or two doubles for outings to the zoo, etc

I'm looking into the Adventure Buggy because my boys have CP and we get PT weekly for all 3 as well as OT weekly for 2/bi-weekly for 1. My quad is much harder to get around corners now that the boys have hit 20 pounds. I have about 4 emails from Phil over at Adventure Buggy I could forward you. I think the triple would cost about $700 if I'm remembering correctly. I'm short so it does worry me a bit. But you can swap the seats in and out. So in most cases I could use it as a triple, but then add a 4th seat if I had to for my daughter. However, me being out alone with all 4 is rare so I'd probably just continue to use my umbrella stroller for her and keep something else at a triple.

is a video of the Triple/Quad Adventure Buggy.

I hope that helps.
