I want to purchase a roomba vacuum because I am thinking it will be life changing and help with the daily mess (and less for me to do). Does anyone have one and have opinions- love it or hate it? Worth the money? Also, is it quiet? I'm wondering if I could put it one when we all went to bed at night...

Hi,

I never owned it but was going to get one when it was up for sale. Check out woot.com, it has it at times for a better price.
Let me know if it works!

I have had one for a long time and I really like it for my hard floors. It really isn't great for rugs or carpets because it doesn't have suction. It just takes the stuff off the top. It makes it look better, but not really get it clean.

I have wanted to get one, but I think it would run screaming from my house...

We bought one, years ago, for my in-laws. They love it. We bought the commercial version (?) Be sure to read up bc I remember reading that certain ones (maybe entry level) were not worth the money.

I've always wanted one too.

I've had one for some time and like it quite a bit on hard surfaces, which is most of my house. I would be sure to invest in one of the higher end models, as some of the lower ones don't last as long, they have battery problems, etc. I have an older one, but some of the newer ones can be preprogramed to run automatically during certeain times and will return to their charging station. I'd love to have that. I also don't think it does all that great around the edges or corners as the round shape doesn't reach very well. If you sweep the edges outwards though, it will get the rest. It will take longer to clean than you would, and can be quite loud, but like you said, at least it's done and you didn't have to think about it. Run it overnight if that bothers you.

I have a GF that has a Scoob, which mops the floor like the Roombe sweeps, which would be fun also. I just saw an ad for another brand that does both, so maybe worth looking at if you are getting one. I can't remember the brand though sorry.
