#487583, "RE: Parenting Tips for Multiples"

Write everything down that you think you'd like to remember, like when they started walking, first words, etc. Most of their first year is still a blur and there's no way I'd remember that stuff if it wasn't written down. There's no baby book, mind you, just notes in the margins of our big binder of feeding/sleeping schedule for that first 11 months and then in a running MS Word document I have on the computer. Hopefully I can do an album for each of their first year someday, but for right now it's just notes.
When it comes to child proofing, just take everything you don't want broken and lock it up, move it out of reach, or put it in storage. Otherwise you'll end up saying "no" all day and diving to save items or grab little fingers as they're reaching for something they shouldn't. It's exhausting. Just take away the temptation altogether.
No book recommendations from me, either. The last parenting book I read was "Mothering Multiples" while I was pregnant. There are threads here that ask specifically for discipline book recommendations, so maybe look for those when you need to. Mom to GBG born in July 2009 at 30w6d: 3#10oz, 3#12oz, 3#2oz
