I own the Triplette and I too hate the Perego car seats. And most of the times that I needed a snap and go, it was for one baby at a time; rarely for all three. Having said that, I can't imagine how I would have managed the few occasions that I drove somewhere with all three without it. I suppose that I could have just bypassed infant carriers, however I a)hate putting newborn infants in regular carriage seats. car seats seem so much cozier for them and b)getting three babies in and out of rear facing convertible seats is no picnic.
Based on the research that I did a year ago, you cannot get any other infant carrier safely into the Triplette.
If you do decide to go ahead with the Perego seats, you should know that the canopy is pitiful and doesn't shade the babies well from the sun. I had to buy the protect-a-bub for car seats and they are complicated to get on correctly.
Flaws and all, though, this stroller was the right choice for me. Nicole Adam 5lb2oz & Joseph 4lb4oz 36w3d 9/25/08 Ezra 5lb4oz, Grace 4lb11oz & Lily 3lb3oz 36w 3/16/11

I put all four of my girls in Peg Perago car seats...so I can't compare with another brand - we liked them quite a bit. I felt they were well made and very sturdy.
We also use a triplette - that said, I only use it for doctor's appointments etc. -- for general every day, walking in the neighbourhood etc...we use a double Chariot (we have 2). When I'm by myself - I put two in the Chariot, one in a back pack and my 4 year old can walk or ride her bike. It works for us. I would try to find a Peg that you can try out -- you may not like it for your main stroller.
good luck!

If I could do it again, I'd use the triple decker for the first 9-12 months, then switch right to the choo choo wagon. The triple decker is a breeze to push and folds up compactly. And if you buy it used, you can sell it for virtually the same price you bought it for.
Once the kids can sit up well (which by then they should be doing...) the choo choo wagon is so much better than a regular triple stroller. Triple strollers just have a very short lifespan, IMO. You can try to use them up until about 2 years of age, but if it's a front-to-back kind they will be kicking each other, reaching forward and pulling each other's hair, and they generally just won't like being in it. And it will get very hard to push. They love sitting in the choo choo, they can't reach each other, and I really didn't mind pulling it at least until the 3-4yo range. And the choo choo is very reasonably priced and practically indestructable. Maybe get a single and a double stroller for other outings when there will be two adults and you want to maneuver through crowds, etc., or when you are taking only one or two kids out.
IMO, if you're going to get the Peg Perego, at least try to find it used. Otherwise I really think you will look back and think the money you spent wasn't worth it. Mary (41) happily married to Case (45) since 7/2000

As a satisfied Triplette user, I want to add one more point. If you're the type to take long walks every day and let the babies fall asleep on the walk, you won't get that with a choo-choo wagon (I think). And the side to side triple strollers don't fit on a sidewalk, so if you live in an urban setting, you'll be forced to walk in the street. Which leaves you with.... the Triplette. I agree that you wouldn't get kids to nap in the choo choo! Another factor that might play into it is the climate where you live and the timing of your babies' arrival. We live in Michigan, which is not suitable for outdoor walks between Nov and April. My triplets were spring birthdays, so between 18 and 24 mos of age I didn't really take them for walks. I really only used my triple stroller for about 6 months, when they were 12-18 mos old. I actually had the Foundations triple, which I would only give moderate reviews for, though it was only $400. My impression is that the Peg Perego is better, but I think the price is a little much. For us, once we switched to the choo choo wagon (the spring they turned 2), they did not want to be in that triple stroller anymore and we were pretty much done with it. I never had my kids nap in the stroller past the early months though.
If you just start with the triple decker you can always switch to the Peg Perego once they are out of infant carseats. I really think you'd love the way the triple decker handles for those early months, and like I said, you can re-sell it (we bought ours used but it didn't even look used, we were at least the 3rd owner, and resold it for I think 25 dollars less than we bought it for!)

We had the Peg Perego stroller when they were babies and loved it. Although we didn't do much comparison shopping before we bought it. I found our Peg used in almost new condition for $500 and that included the infant car seats. Apparently the only time they were used was when the nanny took the children for doctors appointments. I don't think that the family really got the kids out very often when they were young. My husband and I purchased the toddler seats that snap into the Peg frame once the kids were out of the infant seats and we HATED the Peg at that point. To use the toddler seats you would be forced to dismantle the entire stroller before putting it into the car. We only used it about a month with toddler seats before we got rid of the think. It was also too heavy to turn easily with the kids in it at that point. The BEST purchase we made was a used Runabout stroller. That thing is wonderful!!!! It is by far the ugliest stroller I have ever seen, but for triplets it was a life saver. It is super slim and can get into store aisles were no other stoller could. It is easier to manuever than most double strollers. There are many pieces of baby equipment that I could have lived without but I would have been trapped at home without my Runabout. I just recently sold it and the kids are now 3 1/2. They still fit in the stroller, but didn't really want to use it anymore.
If I had to do it over again, I would probably either do a triple decker stroller or a double snap and go plus a baby sling. When they outgrow the infant stage, I would then buy a Runabout. We also had a choo-choo wagon that we loved, but I think you'll find it is not a practical solution for an everyday stroller. It is very bulky and cumbersome to assemble and disassemble at each errand. We would usually take the choo-choo to the Zoo or park and it was great for that. However, for grocery shopping it just wasn't the best. And the previous posters are dead on about the nap thing. There is no way for kids to nap in the choo-choo.
Good luck
