#487815, "Tummy Tuck"

My triplets are 2 1/2 years old now and I'm seriously
contemplating a tummy tuck. I have some questions that I'm
hoping someone out there can answer:
- Is anybody out there regretting their tummy tuck? Anybody
that had complications?
- How do you go about finding a good surgeon? What questions
do you ask? Is there some website I can go to that gives
reviews on surgeons in my area? I don't even know where to
begin on this one.
- Do most surgeons do a free consultation?
- How much does it typically cost?
- What's the true recovery time and what activities are you
restricted from? How long would I have to be out of work?

Thanks!

I'm having a tummy tuck and breast reduction done in May and
then breast augmentation around 3 months after that. I went
to plasticsurgery.org to find a list of board certified
surgeons in my area. I checked out their websites and
narrowed down the list of 10 in my area to 4. I called and
set up consults with 3 of them. Before making the consult
appt, ask if they charge for the consult (none of mine did).
I went to 2 consults and decided to go with the 1st one I met
with and then canceled the 3rd consult. I picked one that does
the surgery in a outpatient surgery center that is attached to
a reputable hospital where he has full privileges. Mine total
for both surgeries is going to be around 13k-14k depending on
the type of implants I choose. It's about $3500 for the tummy
tuck for the surgeons fees. I live in Arkansas and this is
the top of the normal price range for my area.

Do make sure you ask about the consultation fee when you make
the appt. I went to one and there was a $50 fee. I never
dreamed of a fee and was caught off guard. Didn't end up
using her so just lost that money. Had I used her the $50
would have gone toward the cost of the surgery. So make sure
you ask. You can also check out the forums at
www.tummytucktalk.ning they ask for you to fill out an
application. At least they used to and ask who refered you.
Tell them Tasha Meadors sent you.

I haven't, though I have thought about it. Because the
triplet mommas I know took so long to recover I've considered
less invasive options. My friend just had this smart lipo
done & it looks amazing:

I think there are similar things all over.

Good luck!

No, I am SO glad I had one! The TT recovery compared to my
csection was nothing. I was up and walking around 4 hours
after the surgery, and back in the gym 2 weeks later.

I was in the military so the other questions you have don't
really apply, but if you have any other questions, feel free
to email me jraysbrook16 at yahoo dot com

   Tummy tuck......I CAN ONLY DREAM!!!!
I"ve been wanting one for the last four years....and
so far it hasn't become reality yet. Maybe...one day.
Right now...I can only dream about it.

I have finally called to schedule the tummy tuck. I'm going
to do it in 2 weeks!! I'm going to combine it with a tubal
procedure and insurance will knock ~$1000 off the price.
This surgeon has tons of experience and only charges $6800
for the procedure (so $5800 for me). I'm somewhat excited,
but feeling a little guilty that my husband and parents need
to take care of kids and me for so long. I'm also very
nervous because my triplet pregnancy/delivery was very rough
(ended up with cardiomyopathy that has now finally gone
away).
