#488259, "help with bedroom"

hi, My GGG are ready for twin beds and I'm looking for suggestions about the best configuration.

1- three twin beds will fit but take up most of the floor space. we do not have a playroom.

2- I do not want bunk beds but saw a lower captains bed (with storage and trundel) or you can have another twin coming out perpendicular to the top one.

The princess/castle beds actually are surprisingly cute and give each girl some privacy. they are designed to have the bed as a "low loft" and play space under, but I'm thinking about putting a mattress or trundle under to make it a mini-bunk. I'd get two of those.

I'm not sure it there's actually enough room under - or if the girls will fight about who gets the 2 top spots.

3- 2 beds/day beds with trundles - this would take up less space than the three twin beds when the trundles are pushed under, but again one of the girls would sleep on the trundle and there may be fights about that.

thoughts? other ideas?

thanks so much! - the girls are spilling over the crib mattresses!

-HA

When my girls were ready to move out of toddler beds, we put them into 1 queen bed.

We placed the bed in the corner so the long side was against the solid wall (no window).

3 pillows along the long side of the bed and a twin comforter to cover all 3.

My girls had already been in toddler beds for 3 years (age 2-5) so we had already done the stay in bed fights. They were delighted to sleep together and, in fact when at age 7 we got a bunk over a queen with a trundle, they still all slept in the queen most nights until we got a triple bunk bed at age 12.

Good luck.

Our kids needed their own beds. We did twin beds and the room was crowded but doable. They are restless sleepers and need their own space.

Surprisingly, we only had a few battles for the "top" bunk. My boys all wanted the top bunk. Eventually, we bought a bunk bed with a trundle. They all wanted to sleep "up high." We rotated nights. After a week, two of the boys decided they didn't like being up high. We then had assigned beds and it worked perfectly for years.

Not sure how old your girls are but high bunk beds aren't safe for very young kids.
