#540, "Need a good plastic surgeon in New York Area"
|
my babies are almost nine months old and I still have extra weight on. The biggest problem is "a pouch" that's hanging on me like an apron. I don't think any exercise can handle this much of skin. I have decided to have the surgery done. Currently researching the web for a good plastic surgeon in New York Area for a TUMMY TUCK Any recommendations?
Thanks, Katy Mom to triplet boys Born at 35 wks and 4 days James 5'6 Nickolas 5'12 Alexander 4'6

I mentioned this in another post and thought I'd pass it along again. I had the opportunity to sit next to Dr. Leland Deane (Long Island Plastic Surgery) at a meeting awhile back and he is so awesome! One of the things he explained to me is that he uses a special technique with moms of HOM. He says that the procedure needs to be varied slightly in our situation from the normal tummy tuck procedure. From what I understand, moms of multiples from all over the country have traveled to NY to have him do their tucks. He has them stay nearby in a hotel for a few days after surgery. He is also on the medical advisory board for MOST, I'm sure they could get you his contact info. Good luck! I'd do it in a heartbeat if I could get my insurance to cover it!

I just realized it was your original post that I had replied
I looked online and found this site:
http://www.drlelanddeane.com/
I actually live in the Midwest, but I'm guessing that since MOST is located on LI, they would likely have some additional recommendations as well. By the way, I recently learned that the wife of a local physician (with triplets) flew out there to have Dr. Deane do her surgery. I'm very jealous! I had a consult with a local plastic surgeon last year and was very disappointed, I've pretty much given up on the prospect. Hope you find a way to get it done, I think it would be so worth it!

Hi, Kristin Thank you very much for your refferal to Dr. Deane, I am going to call him on Monday and make an apponintment for a consultation. Dr. Deane is pretty much the only name I have, and I was thinking to get at least one more surgeon to have a consultation with, before I actually go under the knife.
Thanks again Katy
