Hello! Just wondering if you could help me out with some girl names. I posted previously when we found out we were having 3 girls but we haven't come up with names for them. I love some of the names I have seen on some of the posts and would love any suggestions too. Thanks for your replies. Tracey EDD 4-21-04

What kind of names do you like? Trendy, traditional, biblical, feminine, tomboy? Do you want the names to be matching, or different?
I really like the baby name book Beyond Jennifer and Jason, and Beyond Jennifer and Jason, Madison and Montana. The author's name is Linda Rosenkrantz. She categorizes the names, and gives lots of helpful advice.
Let us know what types of names you are thinking of, and I'll try to come up with some!

My dh likes more traditional names while I like the ones that are a bit more trendy. I like some boyish names but probably prefer more feminine names. I would rather they not all be matching or start with the same letter. My mother is deceased and I thought about naming one of the babies after her. Her name was Josie. My middle name is Elaine and I also considered passing this along or using "Laney". Tracey 4-21-04

Hi ! I have bbg. I named my girl after her daddy Brian , she is Briana Lee (also his Middle name) I named my boys after going through dozens of books and making lists of 1st names and lists of middle names, narrowing it down and just making a final choice, dh and I did it in one night! They are Riley Quinn and Jett Ryan. As far as other names go , I can share some that are in my family! My cousin named her daughters Raine and Quincey My sister has 5 girls , their names are Ashley, Mandy, Mikayla, Marcia and Renzie. Ive noticed also in recent years how many people are using their maiden names as a first name for their child. Also simply changing the first letter or two of a name can give it a whole new look or sound! such as; Taylor changed to Saylor, Shari to Sarri ( my friend named her daughter Sarri) Also Ive seen many children named after a city like, Paris or Brooklyn! Or a state like Virginia, Georgia! Well what ever you decide you will just know it when its right! And dont let anyone outside you and dh influence your final choice! I found that you just cant make everyone happy! And somebody always has their 2 cents to share, even if they are rude and not meaning any harm! Its hard enough choosing one name much less three all at once! Good luck, Kim

Well, I'm having bbg- my girl will be named Zoe Rose- Zoe means "life" and we think that is fitting after all we've been through to make this new life. Her are some of my other favorite names, though: Monica (my sister's name), Maya, Anya, Emma, Isabella, Kaya, Grace, Logan, Caitlin
Watch alot of TV- they all have great names! And I like to read the credits to try to get some different ones.
Good luck and congratulations! Kendra 20w 4d-bbg edd 5/12/04

All of my girls' first names end with a and their middle names end with e. I did not do the same letter for the first names because they are too hard to say (for me anyway). I was a teacher so it was hard for me to come up with names of children I had not taught, or had no feelings towards. I really liked Isabella or Amelia, but choose Emma for Baby B instead. Good luck!!!

I have gggg quads. I thought coming up with all of those names would be impossible, but we found out it was easier than trying to name a singleton. With one, you feel that it has to be perfect. With more, you can relax a little. We actually had 6 girl names and 1 backup boy name when the babies were born.
My girls are:
Amanda Kathleen, Samantha Grace, Olivia Nicole, and Victoria Rose.
Sarah and Cassandra didn't make the cut, and it was only after they were born that this was decided. Olivia would have been thrown out b/c the only middle I liked with it was Nicole, and Nicholas was our back up boy name.
It is coincidence that they end in "a". I have always loved Grace and Rose, but couldn't come up with a middle name I liked other than the usual Ann, so those names became middles. I almost changed Victoria Rose b/c it seemed too feminine. Turns out she is absolutely our princess.
We liked names that could be shortened or sporty, or kept more formal depending on the personality of the child. Our boy names were the same. I think that my girls' sound right for CEOs, senators, soccer stars, astronauts, scientists, or musicians or whatever.
We mostly call the girls by their nicknames: Mandy, Sammie, Livie, and Tori. But we still use the formal names regularly. Tori really isn't a Vicki and none of them really seems like a Rose or Rosie to me.
BTW- we didn't know how popular Olivia is until after she was born. And we have found that the right names will come to you, and you will also have divine guidance in choosing which baby gets which name. Somehow it will turn out right.
Good luck and congrats!!!

We used a combination of names that we liked along with names that had special meaning. Amanda was the name my dh liked and Renee is my middle name. Leah is sort of after my Dad, Leon and her middle name, Faith, is because we were told she would probably not make it (IUGR) and here she is! It took us forever to come up with names that we both liked and poor Trevor was baby boy Miller for about 2 days...... We didn't want to go too nuts with the extended family names, because we didnt' want to have to worry about equal representation from both sides!

Since you asked, here's my opinion. My daughters are grown ladies now and they thank me all the time for giving them names that "not everyone else has", "that are classic" and that don't sound like a "stripper" (LOL, if you know what I mean!). When I was pregnant with the first one I was young and wanted to pick a name that was really "trendy and cute" at the time and thankfully my mother gently took me aside and suggested that a grown woman wouldn't like that name. Boy was she right so my husband and I settled on a classic, biblical name and my daughter just shrudders to think that I almost gave her that trendy name. The other thing my daughters appreciate sincerely is having a "girl name" and not a name that is unisex. As you have noticed by now I haven't told you their names or the names that I rejected b/c I know someone here might have their feelings hurt but if you stick with the suggestions that have come from my daughters themselves I think you'll be fine. Your husband sounds like a great guy (wants to use classic names), and of course, honoring a family by using their names as middles names is always a winner! Lastly, be careful of choosing names that people will take it upon themselves to shorten, such as the absolutley beautiful name of Elizabeth that people rudely shorten to Lizzy, Betsy, Beth, Liz etc.. Good luck, I know you'll know the names you love when you hear them.

I have two boys and two girls. Our girl names were very important to me. My husband didn't approve of either name until he saw the girls and said they were perfect names for them. My five year old's name is Zoe (as stated above Zoe means life). Zoe is our first born and was a complete surprise. We have a friend that said there was a little tiny life waiting to be born and the one time we had unprotected sex it happened. My other daughter is 1/3 of my BGB her name is also very important to me. My grandmothers name was Cleora, which my husband said no way, he said it reminded him of a dirty word (enough said about that) so I said how about Cleo (my grandmothers nickname) and it stuck with her. We gave her his grandmothers middle name so she's named after both sides of the family. Cleo Virginia!
I agree with a lot of the other posts, when a name clicks with you you'll just know it. Good luck,

Of course it depends on if you like common or unusual, rhyming, same first letter or neither... but here are some suggestions:
Sharon (I don't know any under the age of 35, so it's about time!) Elizabeth Gabrielle (Gabbi) Anne Claire Natalie Kate If you like unusual - I have a friend named Lolene (long 0, long E)
I am glad we chose all different first initials - they quickly could identify "their letter" and marking things with one letter is nice at times.
Best of luck to you! Let us know what you decide.

HI Tracey. Congrats on the GGG! I have a DD 7 1/2 & GGB 3 yrs. It was really difficult coming up with all their names because my tradition is for them all to have three names. I did a combination of things when coming up with their names. I chose names I liked for the first names (mostly trendy names) then started throwing in names of people in my family who mean a lot to me. One thing to be careful about is looking at the names and rhyming them out to try and avoid some name calling also, looking at what the initials of the names spell out, again to try and avoid some not nice words. These are my children's names.
1)Summer Taylor Anne (Taylor is my best friends maiden name, Anne is a looong standing tradition. Unfortunately her initials spell out the word STAB)
2)Cierra Caitlyn Brooke (the only one with a completely original name)
3)Savannah Sydney Jane (Sydney for my husband, Sidney; Jane for my mother Jane Ann)
4)Braeden Jonathyn Xavier (Jonathyn after my dad who's deceased)
Some others I liked are Onya, Georgia (almost had an embarrassing situation with Savannah and this one, funny how the names just sounded so nice together hehe), Skye, Samara, Morgan, McKenzie, Ebony, Kendal, Kenya, there are so many to choose from. Good luck on your naming adventure, I'm positive you'll come up with just the right names.
Take care,
Krysta, blessed mommy of

My two cents! This looks like a fun post...
We chose our bbb names for a variety of reasons. They also ended up alphabetical by accident. We named the first born Isaac, which means "laughter" because my husband laughed hysterically when he found out we were having triplets. Perhaps you have some funny thing you remember about the day you found out they were trips? The two surviving trips were, by accident, named names that mean the same thing (Matthew & Jonathan)"Gift of God".
Our factors were - Christian names, sounded good together but didn't sound alike or begin with the same letters (all my children have names that begin with different letters). The last thing we did was give them all the SAME middle name (named after their father) - this way they were all linked together in a small way.
While in the NICU I met a mother of twins who had the names "Lily" and "Grace" - I thought that was sooo neat sounding together - you could even had a "Hope" in there! "Hope, Lily, and Grace" they just go together, you know? I have neices named "Jacqueline Rose" and "Caroline Ivy" - sort of a theme. There are just so many things you can do!
I like Lainey - or however you spell it, that is original.
Like others mentioned, I just "knew" when I found the names. We always waited until after our babies were born to name them, usually we ended up with names not on our lists!
Good luck!!!

I have three girls. My husband really wanted to give them my last name as a middle name, but it is not a really good middle name. It is definately a last name. It is also a language spoken in Spain. Anyway, we decided to give the girls my middle name: Maria.
For their first names we decided on Gabriella for my grandfather Gabriel, Alison for my husband's mother who passed when he was 13, and Olivia because when I was in 7th grade I watched Romeo and Juliet and I remember the actress who played Juliet was so beautiful and her name was Olivia Hussy. I thought that was the most beautiful movie, she was the most beautiful actress and so my Livvy is Olivia.
I also wanted the girls to have names that could be shortened. Gabi, Ali, and Livvy. I love my girls!!!!
