#56, "Girl Names"

Hello! Just wondering if you could help me out with some girl names. I posted previously when we found out we were having 3 girls but we haven't come up with names for them. I love some of the names I have seen on some of the posts and would love any suggestions too. Thanks for your replies.

Since you asked, here's my opinion. My daughters are grown ladies now and they thank me all the time for giving them names that "not everyone else has", "that are classic" and that don't sound like a "stripper" (LOL, if you know what I mean!). When I was pregnant with the first one I was young and wanted to pick a name that was really "trendy and cute" at the time and thankfully my mother gently took me aside and suggested that a grown woman wouldn't like that name. Boy was she right so my husband and I settled on a classic, biblical name and my daughter just shrudders to think that I almost gave her that trendy name. The other thing my daughters appreciate sincerely is having a "girl name" and not a name that is unisex. As you have noticed by now I haven't told you their names or the names that I rejected b/c I know someone here might have their feelings hurt but if you stick with the suggestions that have come from my daughters themselves I think you'll be fine. Your husband sounds like a great guy (wants to use classic names), and of course, honoring a family by using their names as middles names is always a winner! Lastly, be careful of choosing names that people will take it upon themselves to shorten, such as the absolutley beautiful name of Elizabeth that people rudely shorten to Lizzy, Betsy, Beth, Liz etc.. Good luck, I know you'll know the names you love when you hear them.
