#674, "Wish me luck!! Mikayla is in her 'big girl' bed.."

for the first time tonite!! All 3 share a room and up until now all have been in cribs with crib tents!! (my kids are monkeys!!). Well, Miss Mikayla learned to unzip her tent, no matter how far I shove her zipper... LOL! So, I decided to transfer her to a 'big girl bed'! Their cribs are convertible, so I decided to go with that for now..... we don't have room for larger beds until we move. So, she LOVES Blues Clues so I got her toddler bedding in that theme! I normally don't go for 'themes', but I figure for a few months to teach her to use a big bed she can have it! She LOVES it and has been in it for 45 minutes so far and hasn't gotten out yet!!

I thought it'd be easier to do them one at a time...... but Reagan started crying and saying "I wanna Dora Boots bed!" LOL! So, guess I'll order her a set too!

Here are a few pics...... wish us luck!

Good luck! I am thinking of putting 1 in a toddler bed too. He will not sleep in his crib at all. I am nervous of him wondering around upstairs while we sleep. Here's hoping for an easy transition and a full night of sleep.
BTW Mikayla looks very happy in her new bed.

Well........ here is how the night went! (LOL!) I think she did pretty good.... not great, but not as terrible as I had expected! LOL! She stayed in her bed the first hour, but then she pooped and when I went to change her I just said "Come here..." so then she learned she could just jump out. Soooo...... for the next 2 hours it was in & out and in and out

She finally fell asleep at 10pm. She only woke up when she fell out ... at 130am (but then she just slithered out and I went in and put her back, she didn't really wake), then at 4am... that time scared her & she was up for an hour. Then again at 7am & I put her back to bed but she couldn't fall back asleep so at 730am I look and there she is at the foot of our bed with her binky, holding her blankie in one hand and her FAVORITE orange Care Bear in the other! Too sweet for words!

I'm TERRIFIED of naptime today! LOL!

So, I think she did *okay*.... I may have to get a bar to keep her in it, she wouldn't have been up at all if not for falling out! ROFL!

When reading your post it reminded me of what I went through with my twin girls at the same age! The first night was pretty rough, and one of my girls was rolly and kept falling out. It scared her and didn't want her to be frightened so we found a net like thing that worked as a bumper. That solved all problems. I think we found it at babies r us, but actually just saw one in the one step ahead catalog. Just an idea?

i think it went really well, all things considered. i do think a gate or barrier might make her feel more secure, they are everywhere and very reasonably priced. the bedding is gorgeous, i want to have a nap with blues clues!!

good job!

Wondering how the transition is going? Have the other two ventured in to toddler beds?

My 2 /12 yr. old triplets are in toddler beds (boys, still share a room) and my daughter moved into a twin bed w/rails (she even wanted her own room)! My daughter has not been difficult to transition, but my boys need us in the room to fall asleep a nap time and night time (ugh!). I have tried just shutting the door and doing the tough love thing, but they kick the door until we come to their rescue (so I find myself back in their room, laying down until they fall asleep.) My concern is my daughter waking up in the next room.

Any ideas on how I can manage the boys and not be in their room for sleep time
