I had GGB born at 27 weeks. The girls seem to be doing great. Sitting, standing, etc. But my little guy is having so many problems. So many delays. They will be 1 years old (9 months corrected) next month. He is still not sitting alone, and he just seems so floppy like he doesnt have any control over himself. He gets therapy 4x a week and it just doesnt seem to be helping. I am so worried he has something permant like CP, but noone else semms to think so. I am confused and scared. Does anyone have an opion on what to do?

My DD's were 24 weekers and didn't sit up unsupported for a long time. Robin was sitting on her own at 11 months actual (7mos corrected) and Abby didn't sit on her own until about 12 months actual (8 mos corrected). They didn't walk until 15 and 16 months actual( 11-12 corrected). I can't remember what their tone was like at that time. I want to say that Abby was actually somewhat tight. My youngest has Down Syndrome and he has low tone-he just learned to sit on his own about 6 weeks ago. He's almost 17 months now.
I woul dsay,if youare concerned about CP and the therapists and /or pediatrician aren't listening to you, take your DS toa developmental pediatrician tostart and maybe a neurologist too. It can't hurt and they can either put your fears to rest or make a diagnosis and give you specific things to do. HTH

I also have bgg born at 27 weeks. At their first birthday Jazi was almost walking, Karissa was crawling/pulling to stand...Noah couldn't even sit alone. We received his CP diagnosis at about 10 months so we already knew what we were dealing with.

Many doctors are reluctant to give a CP diagnosis until about 2 years of age. But with Noah's risk factors (Grade II brain bleed and PVL) it was a pretty easy diagnosis to make.

My triplets are now 6 and Noah can sit indepently, combat crawl and walk with a walker for short distances. He is a wonderful child that brings joys to everyone who meets him.

CP is a tough diagnosis to hear but I can tell you from experience that it's not the end of the world. Please let me know if I can answer any questions...

We also have GGB trips born at 27w 2d. The girls are crawling all over the place and pulling to standing on their own. Gabriel still hasn't mastered sitting up yet! When you try to place him in a seated position he just arches his back and flops over. The Neurologist told us last month that he will walk eventually (always a question for him as he had a Grade III brain bleed) and would talk someday! These were things we were told were always in question for him.

I know this is hard to see. When I am told not to compare one baby to the next it makes me laug How can you watch two babies cruising around and exploring their new world and not worry about their brother who is still laying on his belly stretching to reach his favorite toy???? Like Lorilou said, they will bring you great joy no matter what the eventual physical outcome. Hard to accept for the Mommy, I know!

My best to your little ones!

Hello,

My GGG triplets are 2years old in two days and Sophia is still not walking or talking. At the age of 12 mnths she was diagnosed with CP and developmenatl delay...I took her to the pedriatition when I noticed at around 11 mnths that she was different to my other two girls. She was so floppy. She started to sit on her own at around 16 mnths and she can now stand holding on to furniture....She does not talk, she just babbles....she is a wonderful little girl, and each time she does something new it brings so such joy to us.
