#3228, "Fundraising golf tournament success -- now need a song!"

Hi all -- we hosted a golf tournament on 7/20/07 to raise money for autism research in honor of our son who was diagnosed 2 years ago. We were thrilled to announce that we raised over $22,000! Now we are putting together a slideshow/DVD of video clips and still photos from the day, and I am looking for good songs to use. Any ideas? We have footage of volunteers, golfers (still photos and action shots), folks eating, playing with kids, family shots, etc. I am looking for something inspirational/motivational but also happy and not too sappy! I need probably 2-3 songs due to the current length of the video.

Check out our website if you get a chance -- www.HititFarr4Kirby.org

Congratulations! That is amazing! I was wondering if you could share a bit of how you ut it all together. I am a part of a Down syndrome association (secretary) and we are trying to get others invlved and raise money, without much luck. I will ask my dh about the song. We own a video bus. and has tons.

Hi Maryann!

We ended up using two songs -- "breathe" by Ana Nalick and "The Riddle" by Five for Fighting. I am going to try to post the video or a link to it on our website within the next 1-2 weeks. Check it out at www.HitItFarr4Kirby.org. I'd love to share more details with you and others, I'll post back this weekend more on this -- we are at a conference in San Diego this right now for our son's RDI therapy. I'll post it under this post.

Thanks!

Maryann,
A good friend of mine just had a Bunco fundraiser last Friday for the DSA of Greater Cincinnati,it was to raise money for her buddy walk team and I believe she did very very well.I know that she is getting more involved and on the planning committee of the buddy walk in our area.
I can tell you how she ran that if you would like...or yo may be talking on a much larger scale..I am guessing that she probably made about 5000.

Becky,

Bunco, huh? I wonder if we could get something like that going. A friend of my MIL's did a BINGO fundraiser for US when we had the trio and raised over $1,000 for us. I'd love to hear more details about the Bunco fundraiser. I'm talking on ANY scale. We recently had a fundraiser at Chic-fil-a and unfortunatley, only made about $50. I'm currently making a special on Holiday cards to the members and donating 15% to our organization (Down Syndrome Association of Riverside County West or DSARCW for short: Long name that I did not come up with). I'm hoping that will bring in more money as the President and I are pretty much coming up with most of the $$$. And it's actually 90% her, so I feel bad.

Thanks!
