#3327, "wiggling lower body "

Our son rocks/wiggles when lying down (usually on his tummy, 15-months-old and I wonder if this is classic stimmming behavior, or do other children/boys do this as well?

It's usually when he is trying to fall asleep, or when he is tired. He lies down and wiggles rocks back in forth. But never rocks when sitting or standing....

is this any symptom of autistic behavior ???

My boys are same age as yours, but they were 10 weeks early. Toby does the wiggling back and forth thing when he is tired. I think he is just trying to stay awake. I also read your other post about hand flapping--our Chris is a hand flapper as well. Don't know if they have autism, but I have no reason to think so.

Toby has had lots of EI(RN, PT, SLP, and developmental ped.), and no one has red-flagged this.

ETA: Ooops, I thought I was in the main forum. I don't have any experience with autism.

Aloha,
Kelli
