#3827, "Sublingual methyl B-12"

Hi,
Just wondering if any of you use the sublingual form of methyl B-12 for children with autism. I have been giving my son shot and it is hard because he is such a light sleeper. I want to try these. any info would be appreciated.

Julie

The shots are tough to keep up with. Sublingual never did anywhere near as much for my dd as the shots. We ultimately switched to a transdermal cream and it works great. It has to be ordered from a compounding pharmacy just like the shots.

How and where do you apply the cream.

It comes in syringes and you apply it to a thin skinned area (inside of forearm or lower back). It is great, so much easier. I'm not sure where you live but we get ours shipped to us from a compounding pharmacy in Ohio called Lee Silsby Compounding Pharmacy. Our DAN said they are the only ones he has found who have a formulation that works as well as the shots.

Jessica,

Thanks for the info. Do you need a prescription for this like you do with the shots. I was able to order the chewable online without prescript. We were/are going to a Dr here but he is so intense and required so much paperwork. It is wearing me out. I would love to try the cream as well.

You do need a prescription just like for the shots. Some of the DANs are really intense. I love ours and we do phone consults with him because he is out of state. His name is Phillip Demio, I know he has a website you could google it if interested. I would get you the info but someone's crying, gotta run!
