My son was diagnosed with eye problems and needs glasses. Problem is trying to find rubber frames for an infant. Does anyone have any old frames that we can use?

finding tiny frames was a NIGHTMARE for us. we had plastic ones though, our daughter was 3 yrs old, but her face was tiny, we had to find 'infant' and 'toddler' frames for her at that age. but, she was old enough that she could wear the plastic ones.

i wish i could help you, i just wanted to empathize with finding tiny frames. good luck, i hope you can find something for a good price.

We couldn't find any. John finally has a flexible pair (4 1/2 yrs old) and they're still a bit big. I do hope you find some but the 2 places where we got glasses didn't have any.

Maybe try a larger glasses store (lenscrafters, etc) to see if they can get any.

I found some. A local mom told me about a place in children's hospital. I just paid for the frames and will have the prescription covered by the insurance.I called six places. One said they had plastic and another one flexible titanuim but the eye dr wanted to rubber and he actually wore the demo without pulling them off. We just need a shorter strap so they fit better. You would be amazed how small these glasses come.

First of all, I am an Auntie to triplets and have 3 kids of my own. My oldest, now 10, has Down syndrome and went into glasses at 6 months. He was born with cataracts, nygstamus and strabsmis. Do you have a Foundation for Blind Children in your state? They would be a good resourse. My son wore the flexible frames. He was (and still is) in bi-focals at that time. Do you see a pedatric eye dr, they should have resources as well, someone to refer you to. I can give you the phone number of the Foundation for Blind Children in my town (Phoenix), maybe you could order frames from them. My son also wore contacts at that time, we had glasses as a backup or if we wanted to go out at night. Babysitters / grandparents were not willing to deal with the contact thing....
I would be happy to answer any other questions I can.

I was able to find an agency that will reimburse us for his glasses. I ordered his frames from solobambini and then got his lenses at a one hour place. The total cost was 205. I have noticed a difference already.

The Braille Institute comes to our home every two weeks to work with Landon. They are in the LA area, but do have providers in our area. I can ask our therapist if they have providers in SD, or get their number for you if you are interested.
