#3984, "Cant hold on to pacifier"

My daugher with Down Syndrome is 18wks old and is not able to hold the paci in her mouth long enough to sooth her. There are times when we have to hold it for her to allow her to go to sleep. Other times she can fall asleep on her own. Sometimes she just needs it to calm her and then we usually hold it for her also. As I'm sure you all know, with triplets this can become very difficult!!

Any ideas to help her learn to keep the paci in her mouth on her own?
Thanks

My son John couldn't hold on to the pacifier to save his life! Luckily Anna didn't like it. But for John we fashioned all sorts of binky holders (actually, the nurses in the nicu did.) But now I think there are little animals that hold binkies that can help hold them in place.

Actually, I just went to my blog (http://snanimals.blogspot.com) to see if had done a post on them and I had. Here's the website: http://www.twobluepeas.com/default.aspx they sell wubanubs. Little animals that hold binkies in place. Don't know if they'll work as well as the holders the nurses fashioned but it's worth a try! Good luck!

We sewed the pacifiers to the mouth part of beannie babies, then rested them onthier chests. Like a wubanub, but cheaper.
