Hi,

We started a foundation in memory of our triplet, Zoe, who passed away in February of this year. She was 14 months old. My girls were born at 25 wks 5 days so we are now focusing efforts to start the Zoe Rose Memorial Foundation that will serve to help/support/educate parents of micro preemies (born 32 wks and earlier). We will focus on six main categories: prenatal (if diagnosed high risk), being in the NICU, transitioning home, on-going care and support, fathers support, and bereavement support. We are starting by building a comprehensive website and then will begin our outreach programs to all the level 3 NICUs nationwide. We eventually want to have parent-to-parent contact, in person where possible, to offer support.

I have formulated a survey for parents, who are willing, to complete and send back to me to help us hone in on the areas where help is most needed as well as areas where support is done well and how to ensure that continues. Each family has such a unique experience with their kids and at the same time there are a lot of common threads that run through for all of us.
