#4218, "Also posted on main forum under I am so scared."

I have no idea what I posted the last time because my days are all running together. C's shunt cathe has migrated into his chest causing plural infusion on his whole right side of the plural cavity. He has so much fluid there that he has no use of his right lung at all. He as admitted early thursday morning after having 2 er visits. I feel so much better that he is where he can be monitored. He has been upset. He is scheduled for surgery in a little bit where neurosurgery is going to pull the shunt from his chest so that it can drain into a bag. Once the fluid in his plural cavity is reabsorbed then he he undergo another surgery where they will repair his diaphram (they think there must be a hole in order for shunt to move into chest) and replace his shunt tubbing.

I have no idea why I have not had a total breakdown. C is our home baby he is not a hospital baby. On top of all the that their so called grandmother (aka my MOTHER) wont put her needs aside to come and see her grandchildren. I informed her today that she is no longer a grandmother.

Please keep us in your thoughts our whole world has been turned upside down.

Bren is doing great and the doc's are very excited for him to go home. The agency that I was hoping could take Bren unfortuately has another child who is already their client in need to vent nurses as well. So I have called the other agency that said they can take Bren to see if they still can.

I want my little boys at home where they belong. This has all been very hard on us. On a side note the hospital really needs something more comfortable to sleep on. I hoping all goes well today so that I can go home and sleep in my bed.

For those of you who have lived in the hospital and one time or another how did you survive?
