My Sons Doctor is recommending femora derotation osteotomy surgery. My son is 8 and has spastic diplegic CP....I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this surgery.

I have treated lots of kiddos with this surgery as a pediatric PT. the kids I have seen have all had nice outcomes and has helped especially with mobility. I don't know how mobile your little man is, but if he is ambulatory it often helps improve their ability to take steps and have a more normal gait pattern. I don't know if this is the case for him though. Will he be in a SPICA cast following surgery? If so I may be able to give you some tips about that too. Hope that helps a little.
