Korrie, I am anxious to hear about your experience with your son's eye surgery. I remember you posting that he had strabismus surgery (I think.. )
Anyway, my son Jones has a sixth nerve palsy in his left eye (Duane's syndrome) and is having eye muscle surgery the end of this month. I have known the surgery was in the works for a long time but now that we finally have a date and its so soon I'm starting to get nervous.
What was your experience with it, if you don't mind me asking?
How long did the surgery take?
What was recovery like? My son is 25 months and the most active of the bunch. How did you have to treat the eye after surgery (patch, ointment, etc)? Did they only do one of your son's eyes or both? I'm almost positive they are only doing one eye for my son, but i have been reading that often they do both eyes. I will have to ask at our next appt. yikes! My MIL keeps offering to come down to 'help' but I told my husband that I think she would stress me out more than the surgery itself. ha ha! But realistically, with the other kids, will I need a lot of extra help?
anyway, i'd love any personal info on how it went for you. i'm getting nervous...
