#1061, "identical triplets"

Hi everyone,

Found this forum and thought i'd join up. I'm a 28 year old guy. My g/f's just over 3 months pregnant with identical triplets. It's a pretty nervous time for us since we've had no kids before and now we've got 3 on the way. We were also using the pill, so god only knows how we managed to do it. The doc is 70% sure that they are boys, i'm not sure how he came to that conclusion but that's cool, because there's 1/4 of my soccer team sorted.

The 3 of them have strong heartbeats however one of them is struggling because his cord is smaller than the other 2. Also, to make matters worse one of the other 2 is leaning on his cord. My g/f's just starting getting a few sharp pains down the left side, which is also the side that the baby with the small cord is on. I've read up a bit and sounds like this might be the babies moving.

Anyways, just thought i'd say hi and introduce myself. I don't know anything about babies let alone triplets so hopefully this is a good place to talk to people and learn.

Cheers

Brent

Wow, congratulations! I can't imagine how nervous you guys are. I mean, we have a 5 year old son and it was shocking when they told us we were having triplets. I've only started messaging recently, but I'm pretty sure the other folks will provide you with tons of info and support. It sounds like a great start though...all thre are showing strong heartbeats. When we found out, there was only one heartbeat and it was very early...6 wks+...but afterwards, they found 3 strong heartbeats. There are a lot of great doctors out there and with technology today, I think you're in great hands. She'll be monitored pretty closely too.

Congrats and best wishes to you both!

Brent,

If you were like me you had a "meltdown" when you found out. Enjoy the ride, get in touch with your emotions if you're not because you will definitely be experiencing them all (fear, joy, love, paranoia, guilt, passion, anger, etc.)

Feel free to contact me if you need to talk. We're in Michigan. How about you?

Congratulations!
I am a mom of identical 3yr old triplet boys myself. And I can tell you that it is the most exciting experience ever! My husband and I were so nervous at first and once the boys were born we just went on a day at a time. Friends often tell us that they dont know how we do it, cause I will tell you it is alot of work. But you work it out somehow and the rewards are endless with our little ones...they grow pretty fast so try to relax, the experience as a parent is probably one of the hardest but most rewarding. At the end you will see how much fun you are going to have. Again congratulations to you both! Oh also another thing I forgot to mention get ready for lots of attention from everyone whether is friends, family or just strangers, seems like everyone gets curious it is not everyday that you meet somebody that has identical triplets It truly is a gift.
Best Wishes
Jules
