What the heck(my kids new inappropriate saying)? It has not been a week yet since my boys turned 3 and I am already checking priceline for a one way ticket to Mexico. They were angels(by comparison) during the 2's, but a few months before 3 aliens kidnapped by boys and replaced them w/monsters(although they are very cute monsters). I am not sure I am going to make it through this year. Please tell me it will get better. Seems as if everything is a battle and they listen to nothing I say. So therefore I am always having to say it a little louder. I feel like I am a mean mommy who is yelling and putting kids in time out. I was actually glad to go to work today.

Well, on the flip side they say and do the funniest things lately.

Just needed to vent.

Mine have gotten so much better right after they hit 3 1/2. They're world is expanding and they have better reasoning ability. For the first time in their lives, I feel like I spend more time enjoying them than correcting them and putting out fires all day. It's nice. Hang in there. For me, 4 has always been the magic age. Seems like it will hold true for my trio. They are neat little people lately.

You keep saying it, but I'm not seeing it!

We have... 3-1/2 months until the golden FOURs. When, almighty Loren from the future, does this transformation take place? I want dates, places and times.

Lately, the girls have been such little punks (putting it nicely) that it has made me rethink this whole allowing-Mike-to-have-more-kids scheme he had going. Even if it IS just one kid.

These kids are driving me over a cliff. I gotta have more preschool.

Oh man, 3 sucked big time at our house. I must say 4 is really getting to be better. I can reason w/ them more, they are more willing to help do things.

For what its worth, my kids call me mean too, but it is usually right after I've told them "no".

My husband had the right idea--he took off for Japan 2 months before they turned three and he will return right around their 4th birthday hopefully. I hold some resentment for his timing, LOL.

to be fair, four is no walk in the park, but you leave a lot of the really annoying things about three on the wayside.

mexico...east or west coast.... i have only been to mexico once and that was so many years ago....oh that would be nice.

Ummm, yeah. They're adorable little rascals one minute and unbearable beasts the next. And the whining. O.M.G. The whining. Please...I cannot take it anymore.

I didn't want to be one of those mommies who yells all day every day. But guess what? I'm sooooo there.

Oh, the 3's are kicking my butt all over the place. I feel like I'm turning into the parent that I never wanted to be.

And, yes, the whining. I'm seriously thinking about making a room in the house for the 'whining room.' It will be wherever I'm NOT. We're now on the downhill side of 3, and I get glimpses of improvements, light at the end of the tunnel, but at the moment they're pretty few and far between.

It's a good thing they're so cute because they would have surely been sold to gypsies by now. J/K of course .

4 is fabulous! Every month we get closer to 4 is better and better!

I can't describe 3, like what exactly makes it so hard, but the combination of everything drives you to drink.

I HATED twos. HATED HATED HATED. I am hating it again with Elise. In fact, I am hating it more because I feel like I just got done with dealing with this with the triplets and now I'm right back into it.

I'll take 3s ANY DAY over 2s.

With 3s, the whining is worse, the "I can't" business, etc., but at least they can understand you and can express themselves a little more. There is nothing more frustrating (to Mommy or a 2 year old) then having them repeat themselves 18 times and you still can't understand what it is they want no matter how hard you try.

2s also have SO much less self-control. I see the triplets beginning to get into trouble and changing their minds now. Elise still barrels right on into the thick of it with no thought whatsoever for the consequence.

And 2s WANT to do everything for themselves, but aren't necessarily able to. Which is frustrating for everybody.

3s are hard, but 2s were a lot harder around here!

DH often offers me a choice when we split up (like when one is going grocery shopping) of whether I want to take Elise or the triplets. I take the triplets every time! Elise is killing me!!!!

I so hope this is true here. If 3's are much worse the 2's I am not sure I can handle it! I will be hunting a job just to pay for daycare so I can stay sane. The only problem with this is I think I may have waited to long already!
