#2380, "NTR - Medicine Side effect question"

I have been on Celexa for 3 months, as well as Lunesta for my insomnia (which really works). My dose isnt correct yet for the Celexa yet, but my questions is regarding how i feel. I wake up and feel Zombie ish all day and night. So exhausted. Just feel BLAH.

Is there anything homeopathic or anything I could take to help me out of this blah feeling the rest of time? The meds still slowly kicking in (not nearly enough) so hoping i get that figured out as well..

But if any of you have any options of things to try i would appreciate them..

TIA..

Hi there. This may sound obvious, but have you tried describing how you feel to your doctor? it can be a challenge to get the dosage just right. It is true it takes awhile for meds to fully kick in, but it seems to me like she/he would benefit from knowing how you are feeling. I think alot of doctors just assume everything is fine unless you say something.

I hope you get it figured out soon. It can be a little rocky at first trying to get that stuff figured out. Good for you for being proactive!

I think I know the feeling you are talking about. I think I told my doc it felt like I was standing in the corner watching everything happen, but not really participating. Another thing I noticed was I could not cry. My doc cut my doseage down and it helped alot. I think he said if that didn't help I would have to try something else.
So check with your doc, it may need to be adjusted.

Hey Kelli. Try cutting the Lunesta in half and see if you can go with less. I have a family member that takes it and 3mg was too much for her. (I'm guessing they prescribed that.) About half was just right and didn't cause the "hangover".

I agree about cutting the Lunesta in half. I have taken Zoloft for 2 years & I took Lunesta as well. That stuff rocked! But, I had to go off of it because I felt exactly like you are describing. I remember thinking, "this stuff is going to be like every other sleep medicine..nothing." WRONG. About 10 minutes after I took it the first night, I felt like singing, "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds." Talk about a trip!

But for weeks I did feel like a zombie & couldn't get motivated or awake to do anything. So now I take a stupid generic OTC sleep aid. I'm bitter, can ya tell? LOL. But, it does help me. I usually take it about 2 hours before I go to bed & then by the time I go to bed, I'm good.
