#822, "New dad of BBG looking for a little info or direction"
|
Hi
Just found this site after a friend passed on the info from another family friend that had tripletts. Looks like a great site to help get a ton of information considering we'll need all the help we can get since this is all new to us.
It took us almost 4 years to have kids and finally IVF worked...and worked well to say the least. We had the trips a week ago and we were lucky and blessed that they went 34 weeks and no major complications. Mother is healthy and couldn't be happier. They are in the NICU for about another week but after that I guess the fun starts.
We're not the richest folks in the bunch money wise so we're trying to find out what we can do to help on the financial side to make sure we are doing whatever we can with the formula companies, diaper companies, baby food companies etc. to see if they give out any helping hands to families in need. Not exactly where to look, how to ask or who to contact. Any help would be greatly appreaciated.
We're really excited and can't wait until they are all home.
Thanks for any help. Much appreciated from a first time poster.

Have your pedi contact the formula reps. I recieved 2 months of formula from Similac and 3 months from Enfamil. There is a list of freebies on the Forum. I got 3 packages from Pampers and lots of baby food from those companies. Carters was also very generous and gave us 3 sleepers each and 3 packs of onsies.
Hope that helps, Crystal ggg fraternal triplets born 3/4/06

Congratulations! One other suggestion on formula is to speak to the pediatrician about writing a prescription for it, especially if they are taking something specific because of an allergy or reflux etc., and seeing if your insurer will cover it.
Also, if you have not done so already, try to join a local multiples group. It is a great resource for information, support and for used baby equipment and clothes. People in my group are always passing along things, including unopened formula that they did not use, either for free or at a steep discount. Good luck!
