We just had trips BBG. My wife is also a RN of many years.
Are there any nurses on here that found a job where they can stay at home full time and work from home as opposed to going back to the hospital ?
We need the second income and can't afford or really want a live in nanny for the help down the road. Would love to have some full time extra help but its not really an option money wise unfortunately.
Just trying to see if any nurses that were in these same shoes have found anything that works to stay at home and work at home for any of the health companies etc. If you have any contacts or companies that we can check out, job recruiters, head hunters, anything is greatoy appreciated.
Thank you

I have 8 month old triplets and just went back to work prn as a RN. I have a nurse friend that I hired to come in 2 days a week while I go back to work 1 day a week. I have found outside daycare to be way too expensive for 3 babies. Having someone come to the house makes it a lot easier. Hope you guys can figure out something soon.

Hi! I don´t usually check this forum, so I just now saw your message. I don´t have any specific contacts that would help you, since I live in Bogotá, Colombia, but I´m a pediatric nurse practitioner, and I used to work full time with a nutritional recuperation program in low-income neighborhoods here in the city. I also wanted to stay home with our babies (now 10 months) and I´ve been able to do that working part-time as the coordinator of a research project, and advisor to the program I used to work with. I do most of my work via internet, with occasional meetings at the hospital. My DH fills in for me on those occasions, or my mother, MIL, sister...etc. I would suggest that your wife contact pharmaceutical companies to see if there might be something in the research line she could do from home. Or, perhaps one of the hospitals in your area has a medical advice line she could man from home...of course that wouldn´t be as convenient because you can´t schedule three babies around phone calls. Well, I hope you´ve been able to find something or will soon. And congratulations!! Our health care system (Kaiser) offers advice nurse jobs, some of which can be done from home. They set you up with a phone line and computer at home. You would still need home help as you can't have baby noises in the background.
Some case management jobs can be done from home, although I've never seen them advertised.
I will return to work call-in status with availability only on DH days off. Grandma lives with us, a trememndous help, but I don't want to over-burden her. We'll see how it goes.
Good luck.
