Hi, my name is Cristina, I am 13 weeks. First when we realize we were pregnant we were really excited, then when the doctor told us it was multiple, I was in shock, happy, nervous, terrify, I didn't know what to think. My situation is that my husband and I just arrived to Atlanta, GA 2 months ago... at the first week we arrived we had the news we were pregnant, we are going to be here for 18 months, so I'm worried because here we don't have family or friends, and I know I will need a lot of help and it is different when you are not near your family, so sometimes I feel sad because I'm alone most of the day!!!

So, if somebody lives in Atlanta I would love to talk to you, or with people that are expecting triplets, does anybody know a parent group where we can go and meet people in our same situation?

Hi Cristina! Congratulations!! And welcome to the board. I´m afraid I don´t live in Atlanta, (I live in Colombia) so I can´t help you out with contacts, but I´m sure others here will. You might want to post on the main forum board, too, because a lot more people seem to follow that board. Where did you move to Atlanta from?

I have almost 10 month old triplet girls and it´s been a wonderful experience. I hope the same is true for you! You´ll find a lot of wonderfully helpful people on this forum, so do keep visiting it. I´ll be looking forward to reading your updates.

Hi Cristina and congrats to you and your husband! When I was pregnant and for the first year of my kids' life, we lived in California with NO family around. Everyone, I mean EVERYONE lived in NY/NJ. It was lonely, but I managed. My phone bill was outrageous My mother-in-law came to help me for two weeks right after they were born, then my mother came for two weeks. After that, I was on my own. It was tiring, exhausting, exciting, wonderful and beautiful to be able to be with my babies everyday, but I have to admit, the FIRST year is the hardest. My treasures will be 8 soon, and things are much easier - except now their HOMEWORK is very time consuming!! Asking around for support groups is a great first step. Again, congratulations and good luck to a LONG uneventful pregnancy! Oh, btw, we moved back to NJ when the kids were 1 1/2. I wanted them to grow up with family/cousins/grandparents!

I am in a similar boat and feel the same 'lonely' feeling you do. On top of that, this summer we moved to an apartment that was perfect for us and our dog. Guess what? It is now NOT perfect for what will be an instant family and we will have to move! I'm not looking forward to it but we do not have any other kids and I would rather go through the hassle of moving than dealing w/ a small space on top of what is sure to be a crazy year!!!!!

Also, my husband will not be around this summer for his job (starts travelling then). I just hope he is here for the birth! We can deal after that.

I would say, make sure you recruit any family and friends to help out for as long as possible. Our family and friends are across the country but they have all offered to come down and help. I am taking names now!

It's hard to get over the shock and feeling so overwhelmed, but it will be a beautiful thing!!! Good luck and hope to see your posts more often!
