A few of you may remember my post, a few weeks ago, on the main board about my friend's wife that went missing in the mountains. She was never found and is presumed dead. The family's grief (as you well know) is deep and painful. I've recently begun making rosaries and discovered a website that offers a service where they will take dried flowers from a memorial service (or wedding or whatever) and will incorporate them into beads.

I am going to use these beads as the Our Father beads in rosaries for my friend and his children.

I thought is was a neat thing - discovered it a month after my gramma died - I would've loved to have been able to do this with flowers from her service.

I just thought I'd pass it on. I've tried to find other sources that might do this (it isn't cheap when looking at several rosaries) but haven't had any luck. A nun I know told me she'd heard of an order in Ohio that does this but I don't know who that is.

If anyone is interested, I'll post a picture of the rosaries when I'm done. I will be trying to cusomize the Hail Mary beads for each person. If you look at the site, I will probably be ordering the polymer beads since you can better see the flower fragments in them.

Marie, although I am not Catholic, I have many friends who are, and some family.

I just wanted to tell you that these are an absolutely beautiful thing to have, and if I were Catholic I would soo cherish them.

Anyway, re. the beads - even if you aren't catholic, some of the colors are beautiful - you could make a bracelet or something like that as well, kwim.
