#3158, "refusing to give up"

I'm new to posting, but have been reading in the general section for weeks. Really since we found out we were pg with triplets. We found out we were pregnant with identical twins (same placenta, seperate amniotic sacs) and a fraternal. Our twins are boys, and our fraternal is a girl.
I will try and keep our story short, but I just felt the need to share. Not necessarily to get anything in return. I think I just need to "say it out loud" to someone who might understand....
Well, without warning on Monday, Sept 3rd, my water broke. I was 17w6d. My doc was out for the week on a cruise. Perfect timing. The docs we had to see basically wrote us and our babies off. They said our babies were going to die and wanted to send us home to "wait it out". We refused to accept that (and still do) We insisted on staying most of the week, but then went home Saturday night.
Tuesday, Sept 11th, at exactly 19weeks we were back at the hospital. I had been having contractions for a while early that morning. My doc came in. I was dilated to 4. My contractions continued for a while and then stopped. We knew our day wasnt over though. After almost 2 hours w/o contractions I delivered Baby A- Anders Mark. I delivered him myself when I was in the bathroom. He was alive, and moving, and beautiful beyond words. He was born at 10:36. At 11:55 his tiny body let him go. He was 8oz and 8 1/2in.
I have remained in bed, with the exception of bathroom breaks, and so far Anders' brother- Baby B- Bale Christopher, and sister- baby C- Crosby Layne, are staying put. We are at 20w5d today. We take it one day at a time. Right now the goal is to make it to 24 weeks. Then they'll fly me down to UAMS in Little Rock. (where the specialists are) They wont take me before then. And we'll try to keep them in as long as we can after that.
As of right now things are as ok as they can be. My cervix is long again, but we dont know if it closed completly or not. It started to shortly after I gave birth, but we havent checked since, as to not invite in infection.
Its a hard struggle- between grieving our son and trying to keep my emotions "stable" for our babies that are still in my belly. I pray everyday we can keep them safe.
I'm sorry this has turned into a book, but that is our story for now... Thanks for listening....
Jennifer

Thank you for your posts.
I am sad to say we came home last night with empty arms. Contractions started Tuesday afternoon. We tried to stop them. I labored all through the night. Bale was born Wednesday at 4:52AM. Crosby followed at 4:54. They were both gone by 6:00AM.
My triplets are reunited. My heart is forever broken.

Jennifer, I am so very sorry to hear of your great losses. My heart is broken for you. My story is very similar to yours and it adds tragedy upon tragedy as you hope and wait and it still doesn't turn out the way you dreamed that it would. My prayers are with you, you WILL make it through this, I promise.
