#3595, "How to celebrate 1st birthday"

Hi,

July 20th will be my triplet angels 1st birthday and I'm trying to come up with some ideas on how to celebrate and memorialize them. I would love any suggestions anyone has.

Thank You,

Shelly

1st angelversaries are very hard and I hope you are being very gentle on yourself. We had ours this year too and I am still recovering. There are a lot of ideas on my website. (((HUGS)))

Thank you for leading me to your wonderful website. I now remember you setting this up a while back. I have decided to do a dove release. I couldn't decide between butterflies or doves but ended up choosing the dove release. I think it will be very special. I'm planning on taking everything one moment at a time leading up to July 20th. I've been dreading this day and can't believe it's almost been a year. I saw on your wensite that you got a tatoo. This is something I've been seriously considering. Do you mind me asking what kind of tatoo you did?

Hi Shelly,

I was just at the cemetery as I am every Sunday and it hit me! 4 more months and our beautiful triplets will be two years old in heaven. Everyday is difficult without them but Anniversaries are especially hard. I pray that your precious babies 1st Birthday is celebrated as you want it to be done. Steve and I spent ours together last year, shortly after losing our fourth child, baby Joseph. We took Sophia, Steven Jr. and Xavier, super cute, 1st Birthday hats from a party store and placed ballons, flowers and decorations. We sat together and spent time remembering how beautiful our babies were when they were born, how healthy they looked and how special they were. It is not an easy day. At first I thought about having family and friends there but it was too difficult for me. However you choose to spend their birthday, be kind to yourself and know you are not alone. We are sending our prayers and support to you and your family. God Bless.

Thank you for your response. I keep telling myself that this will get easier as times passes. It's still a struggle for me to go to the cemetary. I do have their picture on my bedside table, so I wake up to them every morning and they are the last that I see as I go to bed each night. I've decided to do a small memorial at our house on Saturday with immediate family. We are doing the dove release and I'm getting a cake and ballons. We will write messages on the ballons and place them on their grave. I know you know exactly how I'm feeling and I wish this was something that no one has to experience in their lifetime. God Bless.
