#3721, "Loosing baby Owen "

I have written a few times on another forum here but I decided I need some support and here I come. I had my babies at 28 weeks. Their entrance into the world was really dramatic. My uterus erupted and the babies were just laying in my stomach when they opened me up. This leads me to Owen he didn't have any air or a heart beat for 15 min. So he is brain dead. We have taken him off the ventlator but he is breathing on his own. This is the hardest thing that I have ever had to do in my life. But the thought of him living and not being about to move or smile or do anything scares me to death. We had family pictures taken with him today. I would just ask for your prayers and if any one that has gone thru this would like to help me personally get thru this I would appricate it. my email is babies@quanita.name
thank you again

I am sorry you have to go through this. We had to make a choice regarding Alex. Brennan and him were ID twins with Christian being on his own. The twins suffered with IUGR and lack of fluid. He passed less than 12 hrs after birth. He was having respiratory failure and they were bagging to keep his stats up. We decided not to let him suffer. We was taken off the vent and we took him to our room. How are you doing? Seems like you had a rough delivery.

Hi Quanita...

I've been reading your posts on the main board and I know what you are going through. In fact, after reading your post on the main board, I decided it was time to introduce myself on this board. We lost our Hunter after four days. He was having organ failure. If you would like to talk privately, I would be more than happy to do so. In some weird way, it has helped me honor Hunter by helping other moms in this situation. Please feel free to email me at msmaine18@aol.com, if you would like to talk on the phone, please email me and I can call you back.

Just remember, you are not alone in this.

So so sorry for what you're going through. No one and nothing can make this easier. We also had to make the decision to take Little Eric off life support. Tha was 5 years ago. We got the news that there was no brain activity just before we approved taking him off life support, and we held him as he passed.

I will always wonder, and I have a million questions in my mind, but I know that my son felt my love as I carried him and that he never knew any of the bad in this world. True innocence.

Take care. It's a long and sometimes hard road, but you will make it through... We're all here if and when you need us.
