Okay. Today marks the conclusion of week 32. Remember our dear sweet little Raquel was begging for 34 weeks -- now she's back to wanting 36. We're still praying for as many as she can get!! Yaaaaaaaaaaaay Raquel!!

However, I have been thinking about baby showers recently, and thought of the party thrown in honor of Sleeping Beauty, aka Briar Rose. Not that any of us would choose to be seen as that nasty little uninvited fairy, but it occurred to me that we all have all kinds of things that we could "wish/pray" for Raquel and her baby. I thought it would be fun to throw a "shower" for Raquel right now! When she gets up tomorrow morning, she could find a party ongoing, complete with all of the gifts that we would give to her.

So, since I'm hosting this shin-dig, here are a few of the things that I'm giving to Raquel and Eliana:

Eliana, I'm showering you with two parents who cherish you and cherish each other for all of their lives so that you will always know how loved you are and will always know the joy of parents who truly love each other.

I'll probably go "shopping" for some more shower gifts as this progresses, but I'm going to invite everyone to join the "party" on the main forum as well. I am leaving the shower to progress on both forums.

In the meantime, I'm going to stumble into the kitchen to see if I can't dig up some cake...

p.s. please let me know when the real shower happens...I would love to come. We are just having ours in April (after RSV season) so whenever you get around to it let me know. I can't wait to meet her in at least another 4 weeks!

You all made me cry! I laying in the hospital bed thinking how wonderful your wishes are and what a great showering of love. My memories of a baby shower are very sad. I last shopped for beautiful decorations with my mother, I made topiary center pieces with three little dolls for my triplets for ea. table. The cake, the presents, and signs outside welcoming my two boys and my daughter. Unfortunately I was in the hospital the day my shower happened, never thinking my triplets would die. After losing our precious little angels we had to return many gifts. And still have some items in their rooms that were ready for them. We did return all three cribs and big items. Thankfully, I have several outfits for her and a pack n play. the hardest return was the three seater stroller. Actually, I didn't even deal with the gifts my friends packed them and placed many gift in the boys room, where they sit today. Sophia's room (what we've called it) will now be Eliana's room and the boys room is a beautiful blue with two new dressers, rocking chair, and denim curtains and gifts that have not yet been opened.Maybe we will make the room a play room for our Eliana? I know I must get passed this and I believe I will upon bringing our daughter home. I look forward to making new memories with her.

I know Eliana's birth needs to be celebrated so my thoughts are of having a welcome home party once she is home and healthy.


your online shower is so special and so loving. I feel so lucky to have you all and all the well wishes showering upon us. Gifts are not necessary but very much appreciated if would like but even better your loving thoughts and kind uplifting words are so meaningful its hard to express my gratitude. Lots' of thank you's and lots of love.
