#4185, "Adding insult to injury"

So I have not been feeling that great physically and emotionally and tomorrow it will be 3 weeks since the girls were born. Yesterday I passed a very large clot and have been achy and nauseous and was seen by the OB today (did not want to see them but had to) who had me running around town getting bloodwork and an ultrasound (office isnt equipped to do that - thanks!). Its possible I may have to have a D&C tomorrow, I will know in the morning after docs review the radiology report in greater detail. Im so fed up with explaining my story to every Tom #### and Harry when I can barely talk about it, and also being poked and prodded after all of what happened. I know all of this is necessary and Im the one who called because I want to head off any kind of infection. Im just extremely pissed that I am yet still going through this crap when all I am trying to do is heal. I am so sore now from the internal then the trans vag ultrasound. I guess I will be reading up on the internet tonight on what a D&C entails, since I have no idea. Isnt it enough torture to have the bleeding/discharge reminder everyday? I guess not. Grrrrr....I just needed to vent. Thanks.

Nan~

Sorry to hear about your latest troubles, and I hope it resolves quickly. I had a D&C after one of my miscarriages and I don't remember it being bad. I do remember it was hard to tell my story for the nineteenth time to every person that came in to talk to me the day of the procedure. - why they couldn't just write it down once I have no idea. So, I'm sorry you are having to deal with that too. I had general anesthesia so I don't actually remember a darn thing about the procedure itself except that I woke up and felt really well rested. I think you can't eat after midnight before the surgery, so it's best to avoid an afternoon procedure if you can. Good luck...

Sorry you are going through this Nan. I had a lot of complications after my c-section too. I kept having to go back for test after test, procedures and dr. visits with a dr. I never wanted to see again. The retelling of our story was awful. I remember wishing that somehow I could just have a break. I'm sorry I don't have any great advice I just wanted you to know that I understand how hard it is and hope your health problems are resolved soon so that you don't have to continue going through this.

Update: Hey ladies, thanks for writing and sharing your thoughts and sympathy. I didnt have to go, just wanted to let you know. I just have to watch the blood flow for now and they said the clots will be "normal". I guess I can be happy about that. Last night I was so worked up about it, I just wanted to write profanities all across the screen! Today I am going to try and get outside since the spring weather broke a little (65 and sunny), I think I need some sunshine.

Hey Nan,

I thought about you all last night. I think the sunshine will do you good. I know it really helped me to get out of the house a bit. Just know that if you have a "meltdown" while you are out...that is perfectly OK and totally normal. Mine happened in the line at the post office and the first time I saw triplets in the grocery store. Of course, after those days I came right here and posted my little heart out. I'm not a writer, but I do feel so much better when I write out my feelings here.

One other thing that a very wise woman here told me...that first day you find yourself laughing, having a good time, totally not miserable...DON'T FEEL GUILTY! I remember the day after I realized that I didn't cry during the day, I was totally miserable because I felt so guilty. I felt horrible that it happened...like I wasn't loving Hunter anymore. These ladies set me straight. So...anyway, I'm babbling...but if you have a bright spot during your day in the sunshine..enjoy it...I know think about when I laugh or if I have a good day, Hunter is watching over me...smiling.

Thinking of you!

Thanks Karen and Dana! Just taking one day at a time, and yes, trying to enjoy the sunshine. I can allow myself to smile a little more now, and Im not crying all the time like I was before. So I think I am making progress. Thanks again for your support. xo
