Hi Raquel,
Thanks for thinking of us. I didn't know there were 5 of us expecting. I hope to follow in your footsteps and have a healthy take home baby. Any advice you have for getting through would be much appreciated too. This has been much tougher on me emotionally than I could have imagined. Physically I am doing pretty good though, I will be 26 weeks tomorrow and my cervix is short (2.5) but has been steady there for many weeks now and I am no longer having contractions so, for now, things are stable.
I am due July 19th.

Thanks for asking!!!! Ive been having a tough time this week, I´ve been spotting on and off... The dr. saw me and my cervix is still closed and at about 3,5, but we dont know what is causing my spotting.

I´ve been feeling some tightening, but I think its too soon, Im 17 weeks pregnant. I feel my uterus is very tight when I wake up, but Ive been sleeping all night. Could this be contractions? Or just that my baby boy (oh yes, I´m expecting a baby boy - Thomas Jr.) is starting to move more? I remember with the triplets I was having contractions at this point but it was much more obvious because you could see parts of my belly getting tight...

I´m due in the middle of september 09.

Monique, I hope everything is ok. I, too, had bleeding earlier and they weren't sure why. They think it was mild placenta previa and it corrected itself as my uterus grew. Congrats on the boy! I also get this tightening feeling and it makes me so nervous. But my cervix hasn't changed. I think it may be braxton-hicks, it is never regular or lasting too long. So hang in there. Unfortunately, everything scares the crap out of us, but hopefully it is nothing but normal pregnancy things...who even knows what's normal anymore, anyway.

Monique,
Good to hear from you, sorry you are having spotting. I had early spotting as well but they never could find the cause. I also had lots of tightening around 17-20 weeks but was always unsure of what was going on because, like you, with the triplets it was very easy to tell when it was contractions. I thought for sure things were going downhill though but it seems like around 22 weeks or so things got much better and I have less contractions now than I did then. Are you getting the progesterone shots? It may just be in my head but I think those are helping. Hope things start to improve for you soon and the bleeding resolves.

Hey, there is a bunch of us, huh. I have a question for everyone, just want opinions really. First, I'll be 27 weeks on monday and things are going well now. My actual due date is July 13, but they are planning a c-section at around June 29 at 38 weeks. I've been thinking about names and here's my question. I have named each of my kids middle names after someone and first names are just names we liked. My daughter's middle name is after my MIL, my surviving triplet is after my FIL, and my angels' are after my parents. I had planned on having 2 more kids and their middle names would be after my angels. So, I am having a girl and her middle name would be Jessica after one of my angels. But I may not have anymore kids after this, would love to, but it's just not that easy. So if I don't have another, then I would be leaving out my other angel's name. I tried to think of combos to use both Jessica and Ryan for the new baby, but can't come up with anything. Sorry to babble on and I probably should've started a new post, but I just wanted to know what you guys think since you'd understand the most. My mom seemed to think it would be wierd to use them as middle names at all, but I really wanted to. But I don't want to leave Ryan out. Any suggestions? Opinions? Hope this made sense, TIA

Hi Cindy,
Glad to hear you are doing well. We are planning to use Hadley's name as the baby's middle name as well if we have a girl. I have heard people use two middle names because there is significance to each and they do not want to leave one out. I have a friend with a daughter named Ryann. Could you use Jessica and Ryan as middle names or something different that would be a combination of the two like Jessanne? I will try to think of more ideas but I'm not always the most creative!

why not use Jessicaryan?

or just have 2 middle names..
Jessica Ryan

I think that is such a pretty name!

All of my kids have middle names for a reason.

1st dd middle name is KayLyn (my mothers name is Kay and mil is Lynda)
My 2nd is Brooke Michelle (Brooke after me)
3rd just 1 middle name Faustino (was dh grandfathers name)
4th (girl again) Brooke Rose (brooke again after me)
5th Kay Lyn (this time we seperated the Kay from Lyn)

I have 2 middle names....Brooke Lyn
My 1st name is HORRID and I have never gone by it. I have no idea why my mother gave me my 1st name, she has always called me Brooke or Brooke Lyn

I do not think it is WEIRD AT ALL to use the middle names and I am pretty positive when this baby is all grown up she will LOVE to tell the story behind her name and be very proud.

I LOVE IT!!! Caryn -- JessiCA RYaN!! How wonderful!

I also like the idea of two middle names.

My youngest sister was adopted and was named Candyce Nicole. On the day her adoption was finalized, another middle name was added: Caryn (spelled the same way, thank you), after the daughter of Job who was given to replace one who was lost -- which is the meaning of Caryn. (And, which is another reason I really like the idea of Caryn.) Anyway, my mother added the second middle name to add the meaning that my sister was adopted and replaced my other sister who was lost. It was beautiful. Since you have such strong meaning to using both names, it would be a wonderful way of naming your baby.

It is better to have loved and lost, than never to have loved at all. In memory of Carina, who was greatly loved.
