And completely breaks down! On Saturday morning I went to go pick out an ID bracelet for Mike and have it engraved for Fathers Day. OMG I couldn't talk I had to write down what I wanted it to say cause I couldn't get the words out. Thankfully the woman helping me was so empathetic and shared that she had a loss 25 years ago at 6 months and she still thinks about her baby and cried a little with me. But also shared that she went on to have three children. It was a hard experience and I thought I would be ok, but apparently not. Thankfully there are sweet people to hold your hand during these times, just when you think the world is such a dark place, out of no where comes an angel. Just wanted to share....if you break down somewhere, its ok. Love Nan xo
PS to Karen - completely know how you feel now with your post office story! So sorry! Oh, Nan, I am so sorry! How thoughtful you are to get Mike something so thoughtful despite it being so hard for you to do so! I hope you did not feel bad for breaking down - it hits at all times, and sometimes when we think we are okay.
I had my own breakdown yesterday - I was supposed to fly to NC to spend a few days with my family at the beach. The trip was booked only a few weeks ago, and Pete could not take the time off of work. As I am still on leave, I thought I would make the trip as it would be good to see everyone... but I couldn't do it. I have flown all over the world by myself, but yesterday I could not bring myself to leave Pete alone and fly away for a few days. I was crying in the middle of the airport and felt like I did not even know myself anymore.
That's okay, though. We're sad as we have every right to be. It sounds like you are being gracious with yourself, as you should be. And thank God for nice people who understand or at least are compassionate! I can't wait to see the bracelet.
xoxo to you. Mother to Hope, Adam, and Charlie - our triplets lost on March 24, 2009 due to a horrible e. Coli infection (sepsis)

Hi Kerry,
Thank you hon! I too am sorry that you had a rough time this week I know I didnt want to be away from Mike for a long time, so he refused a few jobs before taking this last disasterous (sp?) one! I think it was mainly of fear of something happening and losing him too. I am being gentle on myself more-so now. I hope you are as well, and if you arent ready for something yet, then its good of you to say so and stop yourself from having an awful trip. I know what you mean about not feeling like you know yourself anymore, we've changed after this experience for sure. I believe we will eventually gain back part of ourselves, but not all.
The bracelet is a little over our budget, but I don't care - its going to be great. It probably is going to take longer to complete considering what I am doing with it, so it won't be ready for fathers day...I took too long to get myself over there to get it done! I will post a pic on the blog after I finally get it and give it to him. I guess I will be putting a picture of the blank bracelet in his fathers day card and saying "you're getting this!"
Question for everyone: anything special you are planning on doing for the men in your life for fathers day?
Have a good day everyone, xoxoxo Nan Nan~ In loving memory of my beautiful girls: ^Shelby Lee^, ^Megan Aimee^ and ^Lynne Barbara^, March 6, 2009, born at 20 weeks, 0 days. http://rememberingourtripletangels.blogspot.com/ http://forumforgrievingdads.com/

Hi Nan,
Mike is going to love the bracelet. I think it feels so good to have something with you all of the time that makes you think if your babies. I can't wait to see it when you get it and post on your blog. I am glad you were helped by such an empathetic person. I think it's meant to be sometimes when things like that happen. How is Mike feeling? Does he know when he will be able to return to work? How are you doing at work.I hope you have a good week!

Hi Dana Thanks
Mike is ok, went to the ER the other day to have some tests done on his leg and foot (his foot was turning black and blue), but he is doing ok. Its going to probably take about a month before he will be able to go to physical therapy for it. I think the worst part for him is that it feels like a burn wound because he is missing skin (ick). So who knows when he will return to work. The employer denied his workmans comp claim so now we are dealing with that - had to get a lawyer - fun!
Me at work? The same - unsure - unfocused - want to leave the minute I get here. But, ya gotta do what ya gotta do. Ive had stomach cramps this week but I think its nerves.
All in all, Im hanging in there!
Please let me know how you are doing and if your trip for August is a go!

Hey everyone, hope you are all doing good. Its been very quiet in here so I imagine the summer has everyone busy. I just wanted to share that I got Mike's bracelet, I have pics on my blog - if you ever need another idea for a hubby present. I pray for everyone's peace and restful sleepy nights with positive dreams. Hugs to all Nan Nan~ In loving memory of my beautiful girls: ^Shelby Lee^, ^Megan Aimee^ and ^Lynne Barbara^, March 6, 2009, born at 20 weeks, 0 days. http://rememberingourtripletangels.blogspot.com/ http://forumforgrievingdads.com/

Hey, just saw the pics of the bracelet and it is really cool! This may be a stupid question, but what did you have to give the jeweler for them to use for the footprint engraving?
I hope you are hanging in there and that your husband's leg is less purple.

Thanks Allison! For the bracelet, I emailed the jeweler a scan of the footprints I had done for my bracelet and they were able to scan them into their engraving program. And it is not a stupid question at all! It was, however, way over my budget, but really worth it as he loves it! Mike is doing much better thank you for asking, he goes to court in August for the denied workers comp claim...so stupid. ANyway, hope you are well. I did something similar with Hunter's footprints. There is a company called Thumbies that you can find online. They scanned his footprint and I made a necklace. If I remember correctly, the Sterling Silver one is a little over 100.00. Karen Mom to Patrick, William, and our Angel Hunter 7-14-08
