#4862, "Difficult Week"

Just need some extra encouragement this week, as my EDD is Friday. As you know, I wouldn't have made it to 40 weeks anyway even with a successful pregnancy, but the date has been with us since day one of a positive prego test last year. Im struggling to hold it together and have that feeling like Im losing my girls all over again (nightmares & not sleeping are not helping). Its just hard, and I thought it wasn't going to be this hard since I had been doing better. I have alot of things planned for Friday, but maybe I am putting too much pressure on myself to do too many things? I just feel like I cannot do enough for my angels. I know, "go easy on myself", Im trying to do that but when you are depressed its hard to do. Thanks for listening, I miss you all and hope you are all well. Love, Nan

Nan,

Sorry this is a rough time for you. Unfortunately your EDD will probably be one of "those dates" that just stick in your head. My EDD is my best friends birthday. I can never forget it. I hate it.

What about painting some stepping stones for your daughters on friday to put in your garden? I hope that that day is as gentle as possible on you...

I agree, it will probably always be hard. I think it's good to have plans, but don't be too hard on yourself if you don't feel up to doing any of it. It probably isn't healthy to distract yourself too much, otherwise it'll probably hit you the next day.

For us it wasn't the EDD, it was 37 weeks, which is the longest we'd heard of somebody to carry their triplets to (hubby's cousin, of all people).

You'll get through it, as you've been getting through everything else. And like everything else it'll just suck, but at least you know it's going to suck!

It is so difficult during EDD dates that we have in our minds Mine is in March but really anywhere from Nov.-March is all big reminders. I don't know if it helps but time does help to lesson the pain. At the two year mark for me my world seemed to turn rightside up again. I was anxious with the pregnancy and all but my depression seemed to be playing out. Not that I don't feel sad and feel momments of sheer pain but that constant feeling of gloom has lifted and it happened before Eliana was born. Hold on my sweet it will get a bit easier. Lots of love

Hi Nana,

I hope your week went ok. I'm sorry but I haven't been able to get on TC very often lately. I think about you often and know this is a difficult time. I had a miscarriage with my first pregnancy in the first trimester and I still think about my EDD and how old that baby would be rigt now. I will be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Love, Dana

Hi Rachel, Amy, Raquel and Dana,
Thank you ladies for your support and kind words! My day went rather well, it was the days leading up to it that were bad. I updated on my blog, we had some cool "signs" that day Thinking of you all.
Hugs, Nan xo
