#5134, "The Book - I Will Carry You"

Anyone read it? It's by Angie Smith, well-known blogger (www.audreycaroline.blogspot.com) I did and it was heartwrenching, but I learned a lot. I've been a Christian for a long time, but was never SUPER devout and after losing Spencer I really struggled with the idea of prayer and God and everything. This book helped me think about God's role in the loss of my child in a different way. Just curious to hear others' thoughts on it.

I haven't read it, but may try to get it out of the library. I do often go and listen to that song when I need a good cry, and for the first time the other day saw their video and watched an interview with them about it on You Tube.

What was her view on God's role? I'm not very religious, but the only way that I can manage is to think that God did not *cause* this to happen. He created the world, and then just sits back and lets whatever happens, happen (very "Bruce Almighty" thinking). He can grieve with me about my loss, but he can't do anything to stop it from happening. Life just unfolds.

I ordered it and just got it today. I'm afraid to read it, I'm thinking of waiting until one of those days when I feel like I am about to cry all day anyway so that I can just get it out all at once. I definitely need a different perspective on God role in loss, it is something I have really struggled with since losing Hadley.

I'm going to check it out...

I agree... since losing Eric I go through the motions, but I am nowhere as close to God as I wish I could be...

Definately sounds like a book I should check out...
