#181, "Children's Comfort In A Runabout"

I'm interested in purchasing a Runabout stroller,
but am unsure as to how comfortable my kids will be
in one.(they are 8 1/2 months) Since many times we
will be out for most of the day, they often nap in their
stroller. The Runabout looks like it would be enjoyable
for them to ride in but it doesn't look like they
would be able to rest in it.Unfortunately no stores
around here(N.J.) carry them and I've never seen
a Runabout up close. I'm hesitant to spend that kind
of money without trying it out.Any help from owners
would be greatly appreciated....Nadene

You use those inserts that are used in carseats in the stroller and the kids should do fine. The seats don't recline flat but far enough that they should sleep comfortably. Occasionally one of mine would fall asleep but for the most part they were not public napperss.

Where in NJ are you. I'm in northern passic county and can easilly get to paramus park, Willowbrook, Garden state plaza or even the shorthills mall. I am getting ready to sell mine. If you are interested. I'd love not to have to ship it. If you are interested drop me an email, address is in my profile.

NJ here too (monmouth county). I think they must be OK, because I would take mine on hour long rides daily. In the beginning I used those inserts for the carseats. My guys are 4 and we still go for walks.

I have two suggestions...we have had our RA since our girls were three months old and love it. I purchased those Premie head rest and once they were done with those I purchased strap covers from Target. They are really soft and comfortable. Not sure if you knew this but the seats to recline great for when they are little or want to rest for a bit. It's the best triplet invest we have. Good luck with your search and consider contacting your local twins grp or triplet grp and ask to take it for a spin, once you do you will see what makes it great. Compare it to the Peg and the jogger. Since I am a huge fan of my RA I know my comment are a bit bias but for what it's worth here we go.

Peg: no easy to use once they get bigger so that means you will be getting another one later if you plan to do outings.

Jogger: can't get through door ways and from what I hear they are not comfy after the children get bigger

RA: you can use it until you can't keep your kids strapped in it any more. You have different postions to set it in and it's super easy to push, I can shop with one hand and still steer the stroller. Also having the hitch allows you more room to pack other things in the back like diaper bags, super play yards...to name a few.

Good luck!
