1 Triple Runabout (Bought it new from the manufacturer, actually went to his shop and got it) and 1 Umbrella. The Runabout has not been used since August and the Umbrella even longer than that.
Beginning to think I need to sell the Runabout...

Can anyone tell me what company makes the Runabout? I'm having a tough time getting any triplet information in my area. I'm in Midland, Michigan and expecting triplets later this spring. We need any and all information that we can get. Thanks,

I'm pretty sure the company's name is Runabout. If you go to the Triplet Connection home page, you'll find links for buying new triplet (or quad) strollers (Runabout or Peg Perego), as well as a site where members advertise their used strollers for sale.
Hope that helps.

We have had two....the Peg Perego and the Runabout. The Peg was great at first since we could snap two of the Peg car seats in the frame of the stroller....that meant we only had to carry one baby and still not have to take them out of their car seats. WE LOVE THE RUNABOUT!!! It is so much easier to push and since we have the hitch for the car, it doesn't take valuable trunk space.
My Peg is getting ready to hit the sales board....anyone in Texas might want to take interest if they want one. Ours is in great shape and it is the newer design with the swivel wheels.

Tripdaddy, We are expecting triplets in May and would be very interested in purchasing your Peg Perego triplet stroller. We are looking for something to tie us over until they are big enough to fit in the runabout (which we also plan on purchasing). We live in Corpus Christi,Tx and would pay for shipping or if your close we would pick it up. Let us know if you haven't sold it already. Thank you, Laura Schulte lschulte@stx.rr.com

One Triplet Runabout - - Great when Deb goes somewhere alone. We will be using it for a while.
One Double Graco, One Single Century - - great when we go somewhere together and we don't want to be such an eyesore.
Three Umbrella Strollers: optimal when there is someone else helping the two of us. Just grab them out of the car, unfold them and go.
Some of the new superstores have the 3-seater shopping carts (they have the traditional seat in the car and the bench that sits two). Deb picks stores for that reason. If she meets her friend to go shopping, she doesn't even have to use the Runabout!

Leigh,
We have seven wheeled baby movers when you count them all up. We have a quad Runabout, a triple decker, a choo choo wagon, two regular wagons, and two umbrella strollers. Our favorites are the TD and the Runabout. Below I have listed some pros & cons about each:
Triple Decker: Pros: Light and easily stored in the vehicle; very easy to push and maneuver; very efficient because you don't have to remove babes from carseats and transfer them; good resale value Cons: Cost (~$300 w/o seats); good only until babies outgrow infant carriers
Runabout: Pros: Sturdy and well constructed; extremely easy to push and maneuver in all types of terrain and conditions; roomy; great resale value Cons: Cost (>$600); hard to store and carry (usually requires external mount on vehicle)
Choo-Choo Wagon: Pros: Cost ($50 on sale); fun for babies Cons: Hard to store and carry; can be difficult to maneuver; looky loo magnate (attracts lots of attention); not good for babies who are too young to sit up
Regular Wagon: Pros: Cost (<$100); fairly good maneuverability Cons: Hard to store and carry; babies can crawl out
Umbrella: Pros: Extremely cheap; stores easily Cons: Serious pain in the back!; hard to maneuver
regards,
J

Triplet Runabout: What a lifesaver for me! I still use it and my 3 just turned 3. It is very durable and so easy for me to load/unload from our van. It is great for walks and when going shopping. This stroller helped me the most as far as getting out of the house by myself with the kids.
Used Gracop twin stroller: Both seats recline to make one long seat and all three could lay together. I used it the most when they were still too little for the Runabout but sometimes would use it as they got bigger, either putting two in the reclined back seat or putting one in the backpack and 2 in the stroller. It actually is more difficult to manuver in stores and harder to push on uneven roads than the Runabout.
Umbrella strollers: We have two and used these when we were going out as a family and wanted to blend in more. We would both push one then Rebecca would ride in the backpack. Choo choo wagon: A HUGE hit with the kids & SOOOOO cute! I only use it for walks and it is much harder to pull than using the Runabout. I also recommend looking into a backpack. They help you blend in more when you want to get out without being stopped all the time. My mom can't stand the attention you get with the Runabout so we always used the backpack and twin or umbrella strollers when she went with us.

Upon the birth of our 4th child less than 2 years after the triplets, I sold my triplet Peg Perego (which was great) and bought a new quad Runabout. I went with the Runabout because everyone here seems to love it best, but I must say, I miss my Peg! I think there must be something wrong with me, lol! I'd love any advice you all might have to help me enjoy my Runabout as much as you do. Fitting it into the van (Grand Caravan) is very tough, requires partial disassembly of the stroller (remove front seat, tilt up rear seat, telescope handle) & moving the driver's seat up as far as possible (which is uncomfortable for driving), and it's much harder to assemble/disassemble than the Peg. Plus once we get home, I have to stop outside the garage to remove the stroller, then drive into the garage & get the kids out -- can't reach the kids with the stroller in the way (this wasn't a problem with the triplet Peg; I'd been able to store the stroller in the van no problem -- of course it was a triplet, not a quad). DH tried to find a way to fit the stroller behind the rear van seat, but said it wouldn't fit unless he removed some parts that I'd need a wrench to put back on every time I wanted to use it (obviously not a good solution). And after all that work to transport the darn thing, it isn't nearly as roomy for the kids as I'd expected. Their feet get stuck between the seats, etc. (My triplets just turned 2 & are average size or smaller.)
So, I'm looking for any advice you all might have to help me enjoy my Runabout. I want to love mine as much as you all love yours!
Is a hitch the answer to my problems? My DH is REALLY against getting a hitch -- thinks it'll be just spending even more money on an already super-expensive stroller that we don't even like. I think maybe it'll help us to like it. What do you say? Is the carrier difficult to get on/off the van? I doubt that the van + carrier would fit into the packed garage, so I think I'd have to just put it on when I need it. Is that possible, or is it more of a semi-permanent thing?
Thanks!
Carol

I am an active mom and I am sorry that our trio has outgrown this stroller..........but, I must say the Triple Decker Stroller made all the difference in our first year witht trips. That stroller went on the airplane, in the car, on dirt trails all over the state of Michigan (including Pictured Rocks in the UP , not to mention the mall, the grocery store and to various art & music festivals. Many of these things I did with the kids and no one else. Infant carriers snap right into the frame making it a cinch to get in & out of the car. It is very easy to push and turn. My only complaint is that there is nothing even comparable to this for older babies!
ps It's for sale if anyone's interested...check the home page.
