#534, "A Quad Stroller Option"

Since there aren't many options out there here is what we did and it is working great! We've got our trips and one toddler and I really wanted a quad stroller so I could get out with them myself. Nothing on the market fit our budget or it was all sold out. Here's what we did instead.

We bought (with money given as a gift from family members) two used Peg Perego strollers from a resale baby shop and a box of Prince Lionheart stroller connectors that we found at Babies R Us. The stroller connect side by side and I can push both of them at the same time all by myself. They are easy to maneuver and if someone is around to help push we just detatch and have two double strollers.

The only drawback we've seen is obviously the width. Some indoor places are not easily accessible when I'm by myself but overall I am very happy with how well it's worked. Also the strollers can tightly fit any carseat, but the car seats do not click onto the stroller like some brands. Hope this info can help someone.

Jennie

Oh, and our total cost for this was about $280.

Great Idea.

I am a home daycare provider. I have a double already, I have two little ones in care and one older and expecting in July. I hated the thought of buying another stroller for too much money!! This will also give me the versitlity when not all the kids are in care!!

Thanks!!

Just wanted to update my post. Since I've been using the two doubles I've found that it's even easier to tie the two strollers together than use the connectors. I'm going to go buy some straps, but haven't had time and right now am just using plastic grocery bags to tie them together. Just tie them side by side with one leading a few inches so tires don't collide. Using the ties makes your strollers narrower and we've had a few annoying problems with the connectors popping off which now I don't have to deal with.
