#645, "What are the best triple strollers for toddlers (regula..."

I have the Babytrend, but don't like it because it is very heavy & awkward to steer. I was told that in order to get the Peg Perego in the trunk, you have to remove a wheel. Is this the best that I'm going to find for every day use?
Also, I'm a runner/walker, and am looking to purchse a jogger that is easily transported to parks, etc. Does anyone have a recommendation?
Features I'm looking for in both are light (or as light as can be!) and easily broken down/folded up into a vehicle.
Thanks so much! Sheri Mom to Michael, James, Caroline (10/07/04)

I have a minivan and a Peg Perego. I don't need to remove a wheel to get it in, but do need to remove one seat, which is really easy.
As for jogger... I haven't tried any out personally. But, I was once told that the triple joggers have pretty narrow seats, and aren't as comfortable for toddlers.
When having this discussion before, someone recommended the Valco Twin Runabout, with the addition of an extra "toddler jump seat." Apparently, with this stroller, it is a regular twin one, so the seats are wider. Then, you can add one extra seat over the others. Unfortunately, I never got any feedback later. I don't know how it actually worked out. I was worried about the toddlers in the regular seats being upset by the one in the jump seat. The jump seat might limit their visibility?

Thanks, Renee. there is a mom in our local triplet group who is selling her Peg, so I might ask her if I can come try it out. Do you like yours?
Thanks again. Sheri Mom to Michael, James, Caroline (10/07/04)

We LOVE the TripleDecker with the toddler seats. It is SO easy to break down/set up. The only thing is that the seats don't come with a head rest, and I have been unable to find the headrests separately. You can buy the frame from TD online: www.doubledeckerstrollers.com, and then order the seats separately from this site I found that sells the same seats they have on the TD website, but with the headrests. Only problem is that they are like $99 each for the seats as opposed to $75 each for the seats without the headrest. I'm sure if you measured the frame of the TD and/or went to a store that carries bike seats, you could find some much less expensive. The seats are just strapped on - there is no special latch like I was under the impression they had. Anyway, bottom line is that the the TD with toddler seats is light, easy to use and fits thru any doorway as opposed to the 3 across joggers out there. HTH Amy C
