#740, "Stroller & Car Seat Help"

Hi,

This is "ThreeBlessings"'s husband. Some time ago, we were panicing about how my wife had to be hospitalized at 21 weeks with a 1 cm cervix lenght. Today, she is at 26w 4d and we are thanking God for allowing us to come this far and praying that we hit 30 weeks. Above all, we are shopping for a stroller!!!

We have been through the Procardia, Indosine, Mag (twice) and Turb (injection) so far... It's NEVER easy, but with a positive attitude, hope and prayers, you can get through it (God Wiling) - we are still praying that God take us to 30+ weeks.

We would like to thank all those who have educated us when we were in most need and gave us a sense of assurance when the light at the end of the tunnel seemed light years away.

I need some help in picking the right stroller. I believe I have three choices:

1) Triple Decker Stroller (approx $350 for new base + $150 for three infant car seats)
2) Inglesina Trio Domino Triple Stroller (approx $799)
3) Peg-Perego Triplette stroller (approx $799)

With the Triple Decker stroller, I can get a stroller AND infant carseats for about $500 (approx $350 if i get a used frame)

With the Inglesina Trio and the Peg-Perego, it seems like although these strollers are VERY nice, I will still be left with having to buy the infant car seats .... right?

Am i right in assuming that the Triple Decker is the best for the money?

Is the Triple Decker a good choice even if my wife is not going to go jogging with the kids? (i ask because it looks like a jogging stroller)

My biggest confusion with the Triple Decker is that if I pick the one that takes the Graco car seat, can i pick ANY Graco infant car seat and it will fit? Same goes for any Graco Toddler car seat?

I know i have posed a lot of questions, but any assistance will be highly appreciated.

-AH

I have the triple decker and love it. Someone gave me their old Peg Perego, but I have to admit that I have never once used it. It seems unweildly and heavy. When I had my older daughter and had a single peg perego for her, I used to complain about how heavy that was. I cannot even imagine using the triple peg on a daily basis. The only problem with the triple decker (and really this is a problem with triples in general) is that it is so long. So most of the time I end up using a double and single stroller. Trying to get the triple through my ped's office or other doctor's offices has proved challenging. So I use two strollers (snap and goes) and bring someone along. Now for walks, I love the triple decker. I suppose for the mall it would work nice too. By the way, you can convert the triple decker with bike seats when the kids outgrow their infant seats.

If you post on the main board, you will get a ton more responses. You will probably hear about the runabout stroller as well. Everyone seems to love those.

Good luck with your choice.
