#802, "GE Front Load Washer"

I promised to let everyone know about my washer once I got it and had used it a few times. Well, I'm way late, but then it took me a while to get my washer.

We ended up with a GE model#WCVH6260. It has been wonderful. The washer that broke was an old front loader Fridadaire we'd had for almost 8 years. It wasn't the best to begin with. Anyway, the GE has a huge huge capacity, which is really nice. It also spins the water out to the point that I don't think I have to run my dryer as long as before. I have noticed that it seems to really shake when it is doing the final spin, but it hasn't moved. It is on a pedestal which is also very nice for my back!

I have the Kenmore HE2 front load washer and dryer. I have had them about a month. I cannot believe the amount of water we will be saving. That alone will cut our water bill in half.

I love love love my washer and dryer but I have noticed that the washer spins the clothes out sooo good, even if I shake each item coming out of the washer going into the dryer they come out wrinkled. I have tried the wrinkle guard fabric softener, I tried turning the spinning mode to low, I always have the wrinkle guard on on the dryer but they still come out wrinkled, esp. the jeans. Do you have the same problem with wrinkling? If so what have you tried? We also have the pedestals, my washer does shake when spinning but has never moved. It did open the bottom drawer on the pedestal once when i was washing blankets.

Have you saved any on your energy bill? Ours is electric and was told from the salesman that our electric bill will be cut about half.

Sandy,

Sorry so late in replying. Haven't had the wrinkle problem, or at least not that bad. By the time things come out of the dryer they are fine, or they need ironing no matter what.

As far as saving on energy bill I can't tell. They misread on our last meter check, so we got a huge bill. The elec. co. around here is horrible about correcting, so I'm just waiting for my next couple of bills to tell a difference. Utilities where we live are very high anyway, but maybe with less time in dryer it will help us.
