Hello Triplet Parents and Parents-to-be,

I'm expecting triplets (Logan, Lilli and Hope) in early August and just had my MEGA baby shower. I received lots of Onesies (size 0-3--about 38), Washcloths (about 72) and socks for newborns (about 40). I have no idea if I have too much of these items or not. I'd like to return what I probably won't use but don't want to return them if they are needed. We do have a washer/dryer in our basement.

On the other end, I only received 13 receiving blankets. Is this too little?

Lastly, my babies will be born at 32 weeks b/c I am carrying a set of MoMo Twins so they will be premies prayerfully weighing about 4lbs each. Do I need a whole other catergory of clothes in the premie size and if so can anyone recommend a good place to find premie clothing. I have had a hard time finding much beyond NB size which is still big compared to the couple premie outfits I received.

Thank you so much for your help.

Diana

You may want to post on the main board... it's the one with the most action...

I think your ammount of onsies is good - babies always spit up - the wash clothes are a bit excessive - we only have about 12 in use. And as for socks.... I could never find any that stayed on properly and in the summer I swaddled anytime they weren't feeding or "playing" so their little feet were always covered. Also - the hospital usually lets you take receiving blankets and if you swaddle you will use swaddeling blankets.

I found that Walmart had a great premie section and really it's just plain cotton stuff so they stay comfy and warm.

I hope this helps and like I said you may want to repost on the board at the top of the list... it's very active.

Good luck

We also recd. many onesies, washcloths, and socks. I returned a lot of them. I don't use a lot of onesies. A lot of the little cotton outfits, say from Walmart and Carter's, are great. You def. don't need 38 of them. Plus, they will outgrow things so fast. Our babies were born at 33 weeks and 6 days and are now in 6 month stuff. They seemed to only wear preemie clothes for about a month, nb for a few weeks, then 0-3 month stuff. We still use 3 month stuff, but they have outgrown a lot. I would just keep it simple.

As far as washclothes, you don't need too many of these either. You do need a lot of bibs and burp clothes. You also will prob. go through a ton of receiving blankets daily. I was a load a day of baby stuff. I prob. wash about 10 rec. blankets so you may have enough of them.

I find walmart a great place for preemie stuff too.
Good luck to you! Wishing you the best on the delivery!

Hi there! I just wanted to tell you a bit about what I had. I had premie onsies just about 5-10 for ea and I do have more 0-3mo that we are in now so I would exchange some for bigger sizes. You have alot of wash clothes, I just use about 10 and we have a couple of sets of hooded towels. I only have 4 receiving blankets for each baby and I have found that to be enough with as much wash as I do. I don't feel the need to have to figure out space for everything since I do laundry all the time. The receiving blankets that I have are from Target and they are soft cotten not flanel and I love them because they don't get the fuzz of them like the flanel. I have lots of cloth diapers for burp clothes but I only like the gerber. They are thicker and don't wad up like the cheeper ones. The other thing I could not live with out three of is bouncy seats! We only have one swing and that is more then enough. What is MoMo twins? Good Luck to you and your family.

My advice is: open things as you need them. Once the kids get home and you see what you really need, return the other stuff. I think you will find that you have MORE than enough items, but I wouldn't return anything yet. You won't know which blankets the babies like most, etc.

Good luck!

My babies were born at 34 weeks. We had very little preemie clothes which they wore for a few weeks. They were in newborn for about a month. We have tons of 0-3 but one is already outgrowing them. Don't open and wash everything because I wish I could return the million 0-3 outfits in exchange for some bigger sizes.
