Hello Fathers I have been away for awhile. Life has not bee real good to me and I have just not felt like chatting much. I hope all are well here and things will stay that way.
Well better go late and gotta be at the grind at 5:30. Oh if any one has any leads on IT jobs let me know I am at my wits end and the stress is killing me.

Ted,
Hope everything is OK. I work for Lockheed Martin and I see many IT jobs posted. Send me an e-mail describing what type of IT position you are interested in and I'll send along anything that looks like a match.
Regards,
John

Ted, This article was in my parents local paper. I have no idea what the pay scale is,(edited to add: I JUST saw it in the article) but Western Maryland has incredibly inexpensive housing. My son and his girl friend are going to look at a 5bed2b house thats on the market for 50 grand.
I'm guessing you'd just call the Garrett County Government and inquiry if you were interested. If you'd like to see what I mean about real estate, go to longandfoster.com and search zip code 21502.
Its a WONDERFUL place to raise kids. I frequently entertain the thought of ditching everything here in Baltimore, and moving back.
Garrett to hire full-time computer engineer County spending too much on contracting work
James Rada Times-News Staffwriter
OAKLAND — Tight fiscal times have the Garrett County government looking for more effective ways to spend tax dollars.
The county’s need for a computer maintenance person has grown to the point where a full-time employee can be added.
Director of Finance Wendy Yoder explained to the commissioners during their Tuesday meeting that the position would double the amount of service the county could receive for annual savings up to $13,000.
“What we’re trying to do is meet our needs for computer maintenance now,” said County Administrator Monty Pagenhardt.
The county spends about $67,000 a year for about 1,000 hours of computer maintenance work. Some maintenance work takes months to be done because of the backlog. A county employee would work about 2,000 hours for around $40,000 a year plus benefits.
Hiring a county employee would also save costs for associated departments like the landfill and public utilities that must pay a high hourly rate for contract work. By getting about twice as many work hours for less money, the hourly rate they will pay is reduced severely.
The commissioners approved creating the position rather than contracting it out.
They are also considering hiring a grant writer.
Commissioner Fred Holliday said, “I’ve been talking about this for about five years. I think we’re missing a lot of opportunities for grants.”
A third item the commissioners decided to pursue is to move their banking services to First United Bank.
First United will not require a minimum balance for the nightly sweeps of funds into an investment account and the county is guaranteed a minimum of 2 percent interest or half of the New York prime, whichever is higher.
“We’ll earn $53,000 more on interest annually based on what we currently have in our account,” said Yoder.
Pagenhardt said, “It’s good that we do this periodically. It keeps them competitive.”
