I am going to be making an appointment soon to have a vasectomy done. Not really sure what to expect - as you can imagine, pretty nervous about the whole thing.

-Is it done in an office or as an outpatient type of service

-What was your recovery time like

-How bad was the pain (Biggest worry!!)

-Is everything still 'normal'

My guess is it's different for everyone but for me it wasn't bad.
Went in Friday, was in the office less then an hour and walked
very very slowly back to the car (wife drove). Spent Fri, Sat and Sun
in the recliner watching TV with a bag of frozen peas and no drugs.
Went back to work Monday and walked very carefully for about a week
just to be one the safe side. I work at a desk so it was no big deal.
Pain wasn't bad at all, the peas worked great.
For me the stress of having it done was the worst part, then for a
couple days I was kinda bugged out because of having it done.
Really can't explain it because I don't understand why but I wished
I hadn't done for about 2 days, then it past and I was fine.
Just take it very easy for a few days and easy for about a week or so.
I hated the stiches because it was like having small wires in you pants
all day. If you have to prep just remember that the electric razor is
NOT you friend, go with a blade! OUCH That did hurt!
It was very nice to chill for a weekend and the wife was great.
Back to normal? If yall have triplets and are back to normal you
gotta be givin me some tips. Yes everything works like it should.

Anyway for some reason my doc wanted to wait till the kiddos were
10 months, I never asked just went with it.
Looking back it was most likely because they needed my help a lot more
then.
