Hey Dads! Anyone out there? How was your Saturday?

Dw has one of the boys for 3 weeks in Australia, so me and the other two headed to a local state park (about 50 miles to the north) and rode our bicycles along the bluffs of Gold Bluff Beach. We rode about 12 miles (dirt road and then a trail) -- the longest ride for the boys so far. We rode within 20' of elk, explored canyons, found waterfalls, got real muddy, rode thru streams (and got less muddy) and played on the beach.

Only one crash!

Started out today with a light rain -- which cleared off by noon. So off to Stone Lagoon for an afternoon of Kayaking! We have a two-person Klepper...a 17' kayak that packes into three bags (the klepper is on a long-term loan from my sister and BIL).

We explored a boat-in-only campground (we'll have to camp there someday, but it will mean many trips across the lagoon to bring famiy and gear over!). And we went to the west end which is a sand spit with the ocean right there. Lots of fun...but a little cramped with the 3 of us in there! We pulled up to the shore on the way back to the boat ramp and let Calder paddle the rest of the way on his own -- he loved it!

Hey Vaughn...Had a Great Saturday and Sunday....but we're paying for it this week.

Saturday was BIL wedding reception. Took the kids...had a great time...got lots of pats on the back for how well we're doing and looks of amazement. Always nice to get good feedback.

Sunday we did Lyla's 1st Birthday Party. 45 people at the house, had a great time, and the video of her with her individual birthday cake is one for the ages. Might have to send it in to Funniest Home Videos!

Due to two days of overstimulation...had the worst sleeping week so far in some time! But hey...you only live once!

Hello John!

Good to hear that all is well (besides the over-stimulation) down there in Corona!

When the boys had their first BD we had a cake for each, and about as many people over as you did. The highlight of the party was the bath the boys got after "eating" their cakes! Every gal in the house wanted to be part of it!

A belated Happy First Birthday to Lyla!

My boys turn 10 tomorrow -- my how the time flies!
