Hello G Donald! Interesting thought about having the time in the NICU as "prep" time before the kids come home. Also, dw had a chance to recover from her c-section and all before the boys came home. It is easier to heal if you can get good sleep. She went to the NICU everyday and helped care for our boys. Dw was a RN (maternity nurse) at the time.
All three of our guys were released on the same day (8 weeks in the NICU) As we were 800 miles from home, we spent a month at my sister's home after the boys were released. It was a good way to get use to this triplet situation -- no work and not housework/food responcibilities. Just take care of the boys and try to survive another night of seemingly constant feeds!
