Just looking for everyone's opinion. Should the fathers forum have a moderator, possably an active father? Not be the thought police or the political correctness cops, but to ensure that fathers forum remains a place where ALL fathers feel comfortable to participate?

At this point it would probably be a good idea. It's unfortunate that it would have to come down to something like that. I wish everyone could show a better ability to get along and respect the wishes of the other members. I think we as fathers have expressed our desire to have a place for just us. I too am troubled by fathers leaving. I was fortunate that when I spent my time browsing and digesting the idea of triplets I didn't have to see the mess that took place over the last couple of weeks. Frankly I would have left as well if I hadn't had a good opportunity to see all the benefits prior to that.

Not being a long standing member here with a good history of the place, I don't know how much water my opinion will hold here.

I wouldn't think a mod is necessary. Sometimes, a mod working with their best judgement still can't please everyone and that alone lends itself to some bent feelings.

IMHO, it looks as though the dads here can take care of themselves and the occasional fires tend to burn out on their own.

I agree with you Nick. I don't think a moderator is the answer. To me it would just be someone with the power to control who's opinions are valid and who's aren't.

I have seen the personalities clash on every board I have ever observed. Eventually the battles die down and things should be back to normal.

Unfortunately, I think sometimes people are more interested in making others think like they do than in providing insight, information and support, which is what this site, of all places, should be about!

There are very few absolutes in life and we each have to find our own comfort zone and be happy with the decisions we choose to make. I may not find some elses choices or views to be ones I would be comfortable with but that doesn't make them wrong, especially if they are content with themselves. Just be nice about things and agree to disagree.

To me, I am too busy living and enjoying my life to spend time trying to tell someone else how they should be living theirs.

Just my $.02.
